New Delhi, Aug 26: Silver prices in India were unchanged on Wednesday morning, holding at Tuesday’s levels across the board. Today’s national rate for silver stands at ₹2,600 per 10 grams, ₹26,000 per 100 grams, and ₹2,60,000 per kilogram — identical to Tuesday’s national rate. On a per-gram basis, that works out to ₹260, flat for a second straight session.
The unchanged reading follows Tuesday’s own flat national move, marking two consecutive sessions without any change at the national level. City-wise pricing was equally steady: Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala held at ₹2,650 per 10 grams — the same level they settled at on Tuesday after easing from Monday’s rally — while the remaining seven cities, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, stayed at ₹2,600 per 10 grams for a second day running. Every one of the ten cities tracked showed no change from Tuesday’s close.
Silver price in India is determined largely by international prices, which move in either direction depending on global industrial demand, investment flows and mining supply. Currency movement also plays a part: if the rupee weakens against the dollar while international silver prices hold firm, the metal tends to become costlier in India. Wednesday’s flat move suggests both global prices and the rupee held steady overnight for a second straight session, with no fresh trigger strong enough to shift local rates.
Dealers said Wednesday’s flat reading points to silver consolidating in a tight range after last week’s sharp gains, with neither fresh buying nor selling pressure strong enough to move prices in either direction. Traders said silver’s near-term direction will likely hinge on fresh cues from the US Federal Reserve and any further escalation in US-Iran tensions, alongside industrial demand from electronics and solar-panel manufacturers, none of which offered a clear signal on Wednesday morning.
Market participants added that silver continues to draw interest from retail investors looking for a lower-cost alternative to gold, with two flat sessions in a row offering a settled backdrop for buyers weighing fresh purchases.
City-Wise Silver Rates: Tuesday vs Wednesday

Every city recorded no change from the previous session, extending Tuesday’s own flat move and marking one of the quietest two-day stretches for silver pricing in India this month.

On a per-kilogram basis, Wednesday’s rates remain at ₹2,65,000 in Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala, and ₹2,60,000 in the remaining seven cities — unchanged from Tuesday across every market. Retail buyers are reminded that these are indicative bullion rates, and actual prices at silverware and jewellery counters will typically include additional making charges and applicable GST.
Market watchers said back-to-back flat sessions suggest silver has found a short-term equilibrium after last week’s sharp moves, with the metal likely to stay range-bound until a fresh catalyst — such as a shift in the US Federal Reserve’s policy stance or a change in the US-Iran standoff — emerges. Gold, by contrast, slipped modestly on Wednesday, a divergence dealers said reflects silver’s added industrial-demand support even as broader precious metals sentiment cooled slightly.
Historically, silver has traded at a small fraction of gold’s price per gram, and two flat sessions in a row did little to change that broad relationship. Analysts tracking the gold-silver ratio said the pause in silver, even as gold eased on Wednesday, is consistent with markets digesting last week’s rally rather than reacting to any silver-specific development. That said, silver’s added industrial-use component means it can occasionally decouple from gold during periods when manufacturing or green-energy demand shifts independently of investment sentiment.

Senco Gold’s stock continued to react to Monday’s disclosed bulk deal, in which Vision Ahead Services Private Limited had acquired 10,00,064 shares for approximately ₹36.56 crore at an average price of ₹365.66 per share. The stock traded below that acquisition price on Wednesday morning, extending its slide from earlier in the week even as silver prices themselves held flat.
