New Delhi, Oct 6: Silver is steady at ₹2,350 per 10 grams today in most parts of India as of Tuesday. That is ₹235 per gram or ₹2,35,000 per kg, according to Goodreturns.in, which tracks daily dealer-forum rates. Compared with Monday, October 5, there is no change in the national rate, i.e., a 0 per cent move in the rate. Silver prices in India depend on international silver prices, which move in either direction. Prices may therefore increase or decrease during the day depending on global cues.
At the national level, the rate has now held at ₹235 per gram across two consecutive sessions. The comparison covers only the two end points, so it does not capture any moves in between. For 100 grams, the rate works out to ₹23,500, while a bulk buyer picking up 10 kg of silver would pay ₹23,50,000 at the national rate before making charges and GST, which are not included in these figures.
National Rate
Below are the national silver rates per gram, per 10 grams, per 100 grams and per kg on Monday, October 5, and today, Tuesday, October 6, along with the difference between the two days.

As always, many retail customers buy silver because they feel it is cheaper than gold. Since silver is much cheaper per gram, people prefer it over gold. For comparison, 24K gold is quoted at ₹14,902 per gram today, which means gold costs about 63 times as much as silver per gram. You can also invest in silver ETFs if you don’t want to buy the physical metal. With prices unchanged from Monday, buyers who were waiting for a clear direction have little new to react to.
You’ll be paying more for silver jewellery than the rates mentioned above, as making charges are added to the silver prices, along with 3 per cent GST on silver. Keep this in mind when comparing silver prices in the market. These prices are only for reference, and you must confirm the rates with your jeweller or dealer before buying.
Silver demand has remained steady in the run-up to the festive season. Customers are still in wait-and-watch mode ahead of Navratri and Diwali. With prices flat since Monday, the near-term direction will depend on global cues. The dollar-rupee rate also matters, with the USDINR futures contract expiring on October 28 quoted near ₹96.61 in morning trade, a level that feeds into domestic bullion prices.
Jewellery Stocks Today
Shares of listed jewellery and bullion-linked companies were higher around late morning on Tuesday, with all four counters tracked in the green. The Nifty 50 was trading at 22,688.40 at 11:20 am, up 0.59 per cent. Vaibhav Global (VAIBHAVGBL) was the session’s top gainer at 1.46 per cent, while Silgo Retail (SILGO) was the mildest gainer at 0.49 per cent.

Vaibhav Global (VAIBHAVGBL) opened at ₹199.44 against a previous close of ₹199.43 and surged early to a high of ₹204.20, a gain of about 2.4 per cent. The stock then pared part of the gain through mid-morning before recovering. It was trading at ₹202.35, up 1.46 per cent and exactly in line with its volume-weighted average price (VWAP) of ₹202.35. Its low for the day was ₹199.42.
Senco Gold (SENCO) opened at ₹318.70 against a previous close of ₹316.95, touched a high of ₹323.55 and slipped to a low of ₹317.05. It was trading at ₹319.00, up 0.65 per cent and below its VWAP of ₹320.60. PN Gadgil Jewellers (PNGJL) opened at ₹573.65 against a previous close of ₹573.30, climbed to a high of ₹587.25, a gain of about 2.4 per cent, and eased to a low of ₹572.35. It was trading at ₹581.15, up 1.37 per cent and below its VWAP of ₹582.66.
Silgo Retail opened at ₹70.52 against a previous close of ₹69.49, touched a high of ₹70.55 and drifted lower through the morning. It was trading at ₹69.83, up 0.49 per cent, but at the day’s low of ₹69.83 and below its VWAP of ₹70.22. Of the four counters, it was the one that came closest to giving up its early gain entirely.
Unchanged silver rates alongside rising stock prices point to stock-specific buying and a firm broader market rather than a clean read-through from the metal. All four counters gained as the Nifty 50 rose 0.59 per cent, but only Vaibhav Global and PN Gadgil Jewellers outpaced the index, while Senco Gold and Silgo Retail lagged it. Three of the four traded below their VWAP and Vaibhav Global exactly at it, which suggests that the morning highs were not held. Whether bullion-linked stocks begin to track silver or the wider market through the afternoon session will be the thing to watch.
Order book data showed selling pressure dominated on three of the four counters. Sell orders made up 59.44 per cent of total quantity on Silgo Retail, 57.70 per cent on PN Gadgil Jewellers and 54.34 per cent on Senco Gold. Vaibhav Global was the only counter where buyers had the edge, at 53.48 per cent, or 35,936 shares against 31,263 on the sell side. On Senco Gold the order book showed 97,983 shares on the buy side against 1,16,615 on the sell side, while PN Gadgil Jewellers had 45,048 against 61,437.
