Chandigarh, September 1, 2025 – SML Isuzu Ltd (NSE: SMLISUZU, BSE: 505192) reported that it has made a total sales of 842 units in the month of August 2025. The sales mark a 15% decline on a year-on-year basis. The decline was caused as softer passenger vehicle volumes weighing on performance. On the other hand, Cargo sales showed resilience with steady growth.
August Sales Performance
The company’s sales performance in August 2025 had a mixed trend as there was both growth and decline. While the cargo vehicle sales grew by 6% to 321 units compared to 303 in August 2024, showcasing steady demand in this segment, sales for passenger vehicles fell sharply by 24%, slipping to 521 units from 687, which pulled the overall monthly total down by 15% to 842 units.
Year-to-Date (April-August)
Looking at the year-to-date performance for the period from April to August, the company has shown stronger momentum. During the period, cargo vehicles surged 39% to 2,052 units against 1,472 in the same period last year, while passenger vehicles increased 1% to 5,143 units. Overall, total sales rose 9% year-on-year to 7,195 units during this period, highlighting SML Isuzu’s resilience in sustaining growth despite near-term volatility in monthly sales.
