Mumbai, July 30: Five stocks are in focus on Thursday, from Vedanta Oil & Gas swinging back to profit in its first quarterly print since demerger to NBCC signing a $75-million housing project agreement with Seychelles. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.
Vedanta Oil & Gas (VOAG): Turns profitable at Rs 945 crore after demerger debut
Vedanta Oil & Gas posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 945 crore for the June quarter, recovering sharply from a net loss of Rs 476 crore in the preceding quarter. The result marks one of the first quarterly scorecards for the newly demerged entity, which began trading independently on the exchanges in mid-June following the split of Vedanta Ltd into five separate companies. Investors will be watching management commentary on production trends, oil price realisations and the trajectory of exploration activity across the company’s key blocks, including recent developments in the Barmer basin in Rajasthan. As one of four demerged Vedanta entities to have reported results this week, the company’s numbers will also be read alongside those of its sister firms for a fuller picture of how the group’s restructuring has played out on the ground.
Waaree Energies (WAAREEENER): Q1 profit rises to Rs 850 crore on strong revenue growth
Waaree Energies reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 850 crore for the first quarter, up from Rs 745 crore in the corresponding period last year and Rs 773 crore in the preceding quarter. As India’s largest solar module manufacturer, the company’s results are closely tracked as a bellwether for the broader renewable energy manufacturing space, particularly amid ongoing global trade friction in the solar supply chain. Investors will focus on commentary around capacity utilisation, the ramp-up of new manufacturing lines and the health of the order pipeline as the company continues to scale domestic and export volumes through the rest of FY27.
Eicher Motors (EICHERMOT): Net profit rises 21.3% YoY to Rs 1,462.5 crore on record Royal Enfield volumes
Eicher Motors reported a strong performance for the quarter, with net profit rising 21.3 per cent year on year to Rs 1,462.5 crore, compared with Rs 1,205.2 crore in the corresponding period last year, driven by record quarterly volumes at Royal Enfield. As the maker of India’s leading mid-size motorcycle brand, the company’s results are watched closely for signals on premium two-wheeler demand trends, both domestically and in export markets. Investors will look for updates on the ramp-up of the company’s electric motorcycle line and progress on its greenfield capacity expansion in Andhra Pradesh through the remainder of the fiscal year.
Bajaj Housing Finance (BAJAJHFL): Profit rises 22.6% YoY to Rs 715 crore on healthy loan growth
Bajaj Housing Finance posted a 22.6 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 715 crore for the June quarter, up from Rs 583 crore in the same period last year, supported by sustained business growth and lower loan loss provisions. As one of India’s largest non-deposit-taking housing finance companies, the lender’s results offer a read on mortgage demand and credit quality trends in the broader housing finance space. Investors will track commentary on margin trends amid a competitive lending environment, along with updates on disbursement growth and asset quality through the rest of FY27.
NBCC (India) (NBCC): Signs $75-million housing project agreement with Seychelles
NBCC has signed a formal agreement with the government of the Republic of Seychelles for construction of the Ile Aurore Housing Project, worth $75 million, comprising 1,008 affordable housing units along with associated infrastructure. The state-run construction major has been steadily expanding its international project footprint alongside its domestic order book, and investors will watch for further updates on execution timelines and additional overseas project wins. As a key implementation arm for government housing and infrastructure projects both in India and abroad, NBCC’s order momentum is tracked closely as an indicator of the PSU construction space’s growth trajectory.
