Mumbai, Sept 8: Five stocks are in focus on Tuesday, from a fresh railway electrification order win for BCPL Railway Infrastructure to REC’s landmark launch of India’s first tokenised corporate bond pilot to a Rs 300-crore buyback opening for PVR Inox to narrower quarterly losses at logistics firm Shiprocket to a large bond redemption move by GMR Airports. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.

BCPL Railway Infrastructure: Emerges lowest bidder for Rs 54.74-crore Eastern Railway project

BCPL Railway Infrastructure has emerged as the lowest bidder for a Rs 54.74 crore project awarded by Eastern Railway’s Asansol division. The project involves the replacement of overaged catenary and contact wires, droppers and old structures, part of the railways’ ongoing push to modernise ageing electrification infrastructure across its network. The win adds to the company’s order book in the railway infrastructure segment, a space that has seen a steady stream of tendering activity as Indian Railways accelerates track and overhead-equipment upgrades. Formal confirmation of the award typically follows in the coming weeks.

REC: Launches India’s first pilot issuance of tokenised corporate bonds

REC has launched India’s first pilot issuance of tokenised corporate bonds under the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Regulatory Sandbox Framework. The pilot issue was valued at around Rs 500 crore, comprising a base issue of approximately Rs 100 crore and a green-shoe option of about Rs 400 crore. The move positions REC among the first Indian issuers to test blockchain-based bond tokenisation within a regulator-sanctioned framework, a step that could pave the way for wider adoption of digital debt instruments in India’s capital markets. The pilot is expected to be closely watched by other issuers weighing similar tokenised offerings.

PVR Inox: Rs 300-crore buyback to open on September 10

PVR Inox’s share buyback will open on September 10 and close on September 17, 2026. Under the tender offer route, the company will repurchase up to 20.69 lakh shares, equivalent to 2.11 per cent of its total equity, at Rs 1,450 per share, for an aggregate amount of up to Rs 300 crore. The buyback comes as the multiplex chain continues to work through a post-pandemic recovery in footfalls and looks to return surplus capital to shareholders. Eligible shareholders will need to tender their shares within the seven-day window for the offer, with the record date and entitlement ratio to be notified separately.

Shiprocket: Narrows consolidated loss to Rs 13.71 crore in June quarter

Temasek-backed logistics firm Shiprocket reported a narrower consolidated loss of Rs 13.71 crore for the June quarter, compared with a loss of Rs 18 crore a year earlier, aided by growth in its core shipping business. On a standalone basis, the company posted a profit of Rs 20.16 crore, against a loss of Rs 8.99 crore in the year-ago period, marking a notable swing to profitability at the standalone level even as the consolidated entity continues to narrow its losses. The improvement comes as Shiprocket, backed by Singapore’s Temasek, continues to scale its core shipping and fulfilment business serving e-commerce sellers across India.

GMR Airports: Issues redemption notice for Rs 1,500-crore bonds

GMR Airports has issued a notice for the voluntary redemption of non-convertible bonds worth Rs 1,500 crore, comprising a Rs 1,100 crore tranche and a Rs 400 crore tranche. The redemption is scheduled to be completed on or before September 26-28, 2026, as the airport operator continues to actively manage its debt maturity profile.

Broader Read

Tuesday’s triggers span an infrastructure order win for BCPL Railway Infrastructure, a capital-markets innovation milestone for REC, a shareholder-return move at PVR Inox, an earnings improvement at Shiprocket, and a debt-management step at GMR Airports, a mix of company-specific developments for investors to weigh even as the broader market opens on a cautious note. Gift Nifty futures were trading around 23,790, down 9 points or 0.04 per cent, as of early Tuesday morning, pointing to a flat start after the Nifty 50 fell 118.55 points to close at 23,779.15 on Monday. Elevated crude near $92-97 a barrel amid an escalating Iran-US conflict, alongside a mixed Asian market session in the absence of cues from a Wall Street shut for Labor Day, is likely to keep sentiment rangebound through the session.
