Mumbai, Nov 4: Here are five stocks in focus on Wednesday, from 23 per cent profit rise for National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) to 92.8 per cent jump for Awfis Space Solutions to 130 per cent surge for Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) to 15.12 per cent increase for Happiest Minds Technologies to 28.6 per cent rise for Bata India. Here are some key points to note from today’s session.
National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)
National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) posted a 23 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 2,578 crore in Q2FY27, compared with Rs 2,098 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. These are the exchange’s first quarterly earnings since its Dalal Street debut on September 24, 2026, when the shares listed at Rs 1,800 against the issue price of Rs 1,785.
Profit rose by Rs 480 crore over the year, but the year-ago base was lowered by a Rs 1,297 crore provision for a SEBI settlement. Revenue from operations grew 10.6 per cent to Rs 4,066.8 crore, and operating EBITDA more than doubled to Rs 3,079 crore. Profit was about 63 per cent of revenue from operations, though it fell 17.4 per cent from the preceding quarter. Standalone profit after tax rose 16 per cent to Rs 2,164 crore. The board also approved the divestment of a 40 per cent stake in its coal exchange subsidiary.
Awfis Space Solutions (AWFIS)
Awfis Space Solutions reported a 92.8 per cent YoY jump in consolidated profit to Rs 30.8 crore for Q2, against Rs 16 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue grew 19.6 per cent to Rs 438.7 crore from Rs 366.9 crore.
Profit rose by Rs 14.8 crore on a revenue increase of Rs 71.8 crore, which means profit grew about 4.7 times as fast as sales. Net profit was about 7 per cent of revenue, against about 4.4 per cent a year earlier, so the gain came largely from better profitability. Each extra rupee of revenue added about 21 paise of extra profit. Revenue growth of 19.6 per cent was the slower of the two, but the profit gain came off a small base of Rs 16 crore.
Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX)
Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) posted a 130 per cent YoY jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 454.57 crore in Q2FY27, compared with Rs 197.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Profit rose by Rs 257.10 crore, which is about 2.3 times the year-ago level, when revenue from operations was Rs 374.23 crore. It was also about 10 per cent higher than the Rs 413.44 crore earned in the first quarter of FY27, when profit had doubled on a 266 per cent surge in options trading volume. Investors will watch whether that volume momentum is carrying the exchange’s earnings.
Happiest Minds Technologies (HAPPSTMNDS)
Happiest Minds Technologies reported a 15.12 per cent YoY increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 62.19 crore for the September quarter of FY27, from about Rs 54.02 crore a year earlier. Revenue rose 12.5 per cent to Rs 645 crore from Rs 573.57 crore.
Profit was about 9.6 per cent of revenue, compared with about 9.4 per cent a year earlier. The Rs 8.17 crore rise in profit was about 11 per cent of the Rs 71.43 crore rise in revenue. Profit fell about 8 per cent from the Rs 67.6 crore earned in the June quarter, even though revenue rose from Rs 628.51 crore.
Bata India (BATAINDIA)
Bata India reported a 30.4 per cent YoY rise in net profit to Rs 18.11 crore for Q2FY27.)
