Mumbai, Sept 2: Five stocks are in focus on Wednesday, from Tata Motors clearing the last regulatory hurdle for its Iveco buyout to a clean FDA inspection at Gland Pharma, Reliance’s entry into the ice cream market, a leadership change at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and another capacity milestone at Adani Green Energy. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.

Tata Motors (TATAMOTORS): Secures all prior regulatory approvals for €3.8-billion Iveco acquisition

Tata Motors said it has obtained all necessary prior regulatory approvals under applicable sectoral regulations for its proposed acquisition of Italian commercial vehicle maker Iveco Group, after the European Central Bank granted the last pending authorisation for indirect qualifying holdings in IC Financial Services SA and CNH Industrial Capital Europe SAS. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority had earlier cleared the change in control at Iveco Retail, while the Bank of Spain gave its non-objection for Transolver Finance in June. With all prior authorisations now in place, the offer document for Tata Motors’ voluntary tender offer, valued at roughly €3.8 billion, will be published once Italy’s securities regulator completes its review.

Gland Pharma (GLAND): US FDA completes Visakhapatnam GMP inspection with no Form 483 observations

Gland Pharma said the US Food and Drug Administration has completed a Good Manufacturing Practices inspection of its Visakhapatnam facility, conducted between August 24 and September 1, without issuing a Form 483. The clean outcome contrasts with the site’s history: the same JNPC facility drew a Form 483 with three procedural observations after a pre-approval inspection last year, and Gland’s Hyderabad unit has also previously been flagged. A no-observation outcome typically removes a near-term overhang on facility approvals and is seen as supportive for the stock.

Reliance Industries (RELIANCE): FMCG arm RCPL enters ice cream market with Bombay Creamery

Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has launched Bombay Creamery, its first dedicated ice cream brand, positioned as an “accessible premium” dairy offering made with real dairy cream. The range spans cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, priced from Rs 10, and will roll out first in western India before a pan-India expansion leveraging RCPL’s distribution network. The launch pits Reliance against a market worth an estimated Rs 24,000-31,000 crore, dominated by Amul with roughly 40 per cent share, followed by Kwality Walls, Vadilal and Lotte-owned Havmor.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (UJJIVANSFB): RBI approves Carol Furtado as interim CEO for three months

The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Carol Furtado, Executive Director, as interim CEO of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank for three months, or until a regular MD & CEO is named, whichever is earlier, effective September 1. The move follows outgoing MD & CEO Sanjeev Nautiyal’s early retirement on health grounds; he ceased to be MD, CEO and key managerial personnel from September 1 but remains on leave until his notice period ends on November 30. Furtado, with more than three decades of banking experience, has been with Ujjivan since inception and previously held interim charge of the bank in 2021.

Adani Green Energy (ADANIGREEN): Commissions 139 MW Khavda solar project, crosses 20,280 MW capacity

Adani Green Energy‘s wholly-owned step-down subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A, has commissioned a 139 MW solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat, taking the company’s total operational renewable capacity to 20,280.80 MW and its battery storage capacity to 3,551 MWh. The project adds to AGEL’s build-out at Khavda, the 538 sq km park with a planned capacity of 30 GW that anchors the company’s target of 50 GW by 2030. Regular commissioning updates from the site remain a recurring catalyst for the stock.

Broader Read

Taken together, Wednesday’s triggers span a milestone regulatory clearance for Tata Motors’ Iveco buyout, a clean FDA outcome for Gland Pharma, Reliance’s entry into a new FMCG category, a leadership transition at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, and another capacity milestone for Adani Green Energy — a mix of company-specific developments for investors to weigh even as the broader market grapples with a weak Gift Nifty open and the widening Iran conflict.
