Mumbai, October 12: PC Jeweller, Vodafone Idea, Moneyview and Suzlon Energy were the most traded stocks by volume on the NSE on Monday, with shares moving in different directions amid company-specific developments. PC Jeweller gained 1.89% after reporting strong September-quarter revenue growth and recovering export dues, while Moneyview rose 2.04%, extending its post-listing rally. Suzlon Energy advanced 4.04% after a brokerage reiterated its ‘Buy’ rating, whereas Vodafone Idea fell 2% despite a new enterprise connectivity partnership with Hindalco Industries.
PC Jeweller Limited (up 1.89%)
PC Jeweller shares extended their gains on Monday, supported by a 28% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue for the September quarter reported last week, reflecting healthy consumer demand.
Investor sentiment received a further boost after the jewellery retailer recovered around Rs 142 crore from outstanding export debtors during the quarter. The company said the receipts marked the initial recoveries following negotiations and the resolution of the matter.
The stock also drew support from the company’s recent announcement that it had repaid all outstanding bank borrowings ahead of their scheduled repayment dates, making it debt-free. The move is expected to reduce interest expenses and strengthen the company’s financial position.
The latest developments build on a strong June quarter, when PC Jeweller’s consolidated net profit rose 37.2% year-on-year to Rs 222 crore, while revenue from operations increased 21% to Rs 877 crore. The company also completed a Rs 500-crore preferential share issue in September, bolstering its capital base.
Vodafone Idea Limited (down 2.00%)
Vodafone Idea shares fell on Monday. They had gained in the previous session after a multi-year private network deal between its enterprise arm, Vi Business, and Hindalco Industries. The partnership involves deploying a dedicated network at Hindalco’s Baphlimali bauxite mine in Odisha, supporting the telecom operator’s efforts to expand its enterprise business beyond consumer mobile services.
The network will be established at Hindalco’s mine in Rayagada district, marking the aluminium producer’s first deployment of such infrastructure. The agreement covers the entire technology stack, including spectrum, core network infrastructure, radio access network (RAN) and managed services, allowing Vodafone Idea to provide an integrated connectivity solution.
Hindalco intends to use the network for applications spanning worker safety, fleet management, drone and CCTV surveillance, real-time monitoring and operational efficiency. An Integrated Command and Control Centre will offer centralised oversight of mining operations, enabling faster responses and data-driven decision-making.
The contract highlights the opportunity for Vodafone Idea to tap demand for specialised connectivity among industrial customers. Private networks can support connected machinery, automation and real-time data transmission in environments where reliable and secure communications are essential. Such enterprise solutions could provide an additional revenue stream as the telecom operator works to improve its financial performance.
For Vodafone Idea, the partnership comes amid efforts to strengthen its competitive position through network investment, subscriber growth and new business opportunities. Vi Business is looking to capitalise on industrial digitalisation, with private networks and connected infrastructure emerging as potential growth areas. However, the financial terms of the Hindalco agreement have not been disclosed, making it difficult to assess the contract’s immediate revenue contribution.
Investors will continue to monitor Vodafone Idea’s ability to win additional enterprise contracts, improve network quality and strengthen its financial position. The scale and pace of monetisation from its enterprise offerings will be important in determining whether such partnerships can make a meaningful contribution to its overall business.
Separately, data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently showed that Vodafone Idea added more than five lakh mobile subscribers in August, marking its seventh consecutive month of additions since February. Its subscriber base increased to 19.96 crore from 19.91 crore in July, taking its market share to 15.43% at the end of August.
The subscriber gains come as the company steps up efforts to improve its services and broaden its offerings. Vodafone Idea has also revamped its international roaming plans for prepaid, postpaid and enterprise customers as it seeks to strengthen its appeal across customer segments.
Moneyview Limited (up 2.04%)
Moneyview shares extended their gains on Monday, taking the stock’s advance to 24% over the past week as investors continued to build on its strong debut in the listed market.
The digital financial services company made an impressive stock market debut on the NSE on October 1, listing at Rs 55 per share, a 61.76% premium over its IPO price of Rs 34. The listing followed an overwhelming response to its Rs 1,092-crore initial public offering, which was subscribed 98.46 times during the September 24-28 bidding period.
The strong subscription reflected robust demand across investor categories and interest in Moneyview’s digital lending platform and growth prospects. Backed by Accel, the company connects customers with a network of financial partners and offers products spanning personal loans, loans against property, secured lending, credit tracking, UPI and digital gold.
The sharp listing premium and subsequent rally underscore investor enthusiasm for Moneyview’s digital-first business model. However, sustaining the momentum will depend on the company’s ability to expand its customer base, broaden its product offerings and convert business growth into stronger earnings and financial performance.
Suzlon Energy Limited (up 4.04%)
Suzlon Energy shares rose on Monday after a broker reiterated its ‘Buy’ rating on the stock with a target price of Rs 65, implying an upside potential of 73% from the previous close. The brokerage expects earnings momentum to improve in the second half of FY27.
