Why Volume Gainers Matter
A sudden increase in trading volume can show that a stock is attracting much more attention than it normally does. When higher volume comes alongside a strong price move, it can indicate increased buying or selling activity. However, volume on its own does not explain what is driving a stock. Investors should also look at company-specific developments, price trends and broader market conditions before drawing conclusions.
Conclusion
The September 8 session saw a significant rise in trading activity across the five selected counters. Symphony Ltd recorded the biggest increase at 75.60 times its past-week average, followed by Kotak Nifty 50 ETF at 45.23 times. Poddar Pigments Ltd, Alkali Metals Ltd and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd stood out for combining unusually high volumes with double-digit gains. Overall, the list highlighted a clear increase in market participation across these stocks and the ETF.
