Mumbai, April 1: Adani Green Energy Limited has added over 5 GW of renewable capacity in FY26, marking a record year for expansion and underlining the pace at which large-scale clean energy projects are now being executed.

The number stands at 5,051 MW. This is among the highest annual greenfield capacity additions globally, excluding China. It reflects not just ambition, but delivery.

With this addition, the company’s operational capacity has reached 19.3 GW, the company said in a media release.

The mix of capacity also matters. Solar continues to dominate at 3.4 GW, followed by wind at 0.7 GW and hybrid projects contributing close to 1 GW. A balanced portfolio, rather than a single-source push.

Stock Market Snapshot

Adani Green Energy share price rose 3.34% to ₹833.85 as of 9:22 am IST on April 1, 2026.

The early trade movement was decisive. The stock opened at ₹829.95 and quickly moved higher, touching ₹836.85 before stabilising.

The Adani Green Energy share price reaction reflects a clear market takeaway. Execution at this scale is being acknowledged, especially in a sector where delays are common.

Khavda Emerges As The Centre Of Expansion

Much of this growth is anchored in a single location, Khavda in Gujarat.

A vast stretch of land, now turning into one of the world’s largest renewable energy hubs.

The project combines solar and wind installations, supported by advanced technologies. Bifacial solar modules. High-capacity wind turbines. Robotic cleaning systems that reduce water usage.

There is also an energy storage layer. The company has commissioned an initial 1,376 MWh of battery energy storage systems at the site. Renewable generation at scale needs storage to stabilise supply.

Business Built Around Scale And Integration

Adani Green operates across solar, wind, hybrid and storage segments. But what differentiates it is integration. The company’s long-term target remains 50 GW by 2030. Given the current trajectory, that ambition appears firmly in play.

Strong Momentum, But Market Will Track The Next Layer

The 5 GW addition is a headline number. It signals scale and capability.

But as companies grow larger, the lens changes.

Investors begin to look beyond capacity. How efficiently is that capacity monetised. What happens to margins. How debt and cash flows evolve.

For now, the market is responding to execution strength.
