Mumbai, April 24: Shares of Adani Green Energy reversed losses to trade as much asthree percent higher on Friday after the company reported a strong set of March quarter earnings, buoyed by robust power sales and improved operational performance.

The stock rose 1.4 percent to close at Rs 1,231.
The stock initially opened on a weaker note, tracking broader market volatility, but quickly rebounded as investors digested the earnings print, suggesting a shift in sentiment once the numbers were fully priced in.
Steady Growth
Adani Green reported a 34 percent year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to around ₹514 crore for the quarter, while revenue rose 16 percent, reflecting steady growth in its renewable energy portfolio. The strong bottom-line performance was driven by higher electricity generation and improved capacity utilisation across its solar and wind assets.
The results underscore the company’s continued momentum in India’s clean energy space, where rising demand for renewable power and capacity additions are supporting growth. Higher energy sales and efficient asset utilisation helped offset broader macro uncertainties, keeping earnings on an upward trajectory.
The Turnaround
Investor sentiment appeared to improve as the session progressed, with the stock reversing trend after the results—indicating that the market took comfort in the operational strength despite initial caution. The turnaround also suggests that expectations may have been conservative heading into the earnings, allowing for a positive surprise effect.
The company’s performance comes at a time when the power sector is in focus, with rising temperatures expected to drive electricity demand across the country. Renewable energy players like Adani Green stand to benefit from this structural tailwind, particularly as India accelerates its transition toward cleaner energy sources.
Execution Risks
That said, analysts remain watchful of execution risks and funding requirements as the company continues to expand its capacity. Renewable energy projects are capital-intensive, and maintaining a balance between growth and leverage will be key for sustaining investor confidence.
For now, however, the Street appears to be taking a constructive view. The reversal in the stock’s trajectory highlights how earnings delivery—especially in a volatile market—can quickly shift momentum, turning early weakness into a late-session rebound.
