Mumbai, April 29: Shares of AWL Agri Business (formerly Adani Wilmar) plummeted on Wednesday, falling ₹5.61 or 2.74% to ₹199.30, after earlier touching a low of ₹198.40 during morning trade, despite posting robust quarterly earnings on Tuesday.

Price action

AWL shares opened at ₹210.80 in pre-open trade on Wednesday — significantly higher than Tuesday’s closing price of ₹204.91 — and further increased to around ₹207.20 at market open. The stock touched an intra-day high of around ₹208 just after 9:15 am before reversing course. Within minutes of the market opening, AWL gave up all its gains and plunged below the previous close of ₹205. The stock entered a strong downtrend in morning trade and reached a low of ₹198.40 by around 10:15 am. Thereafter, buying emerged at lower levels and AWL’s shares pared losses to trade around ₹199.50 at the last available update.

Weekly Trend

On the weekly chart, AWL had been trending higher leading into Wednesday’s selloff. The stock began trading around ₹199.60 at the open on Monday, April 22 and dipped to ₹198 on April 23 before remaining steady at ₹198 on April 24. AWL then rallied sharply on April 25 and April 26 to around ₹205.30 on April 27, gaining nearly 3.7% in two sessions, before Wednesday’s selloff brought it back down. Weekly returns are currently negative 0.17%, underperforming the Nifty MNC index which gained 0.34% over the same period.

Order Book

The order book was heavily skewed to the sell-side at the last available update, with 72.19% of total order quantity resting on the ask side (10,69,445 shares) versus 27.81% on the bid side (4,11,891 shares). Liquidity levels are somewhat thin at the moment with only 82 shares at the best bid of ₹199.23 and 2 shares at the best ask of ₹199.34. The spread between the best bid and ask was ₹0.11. Additional liquidity of 203 shares can be found on the bid side at ₹199.20 while 175 shares are available on the ask side at ₹199.37.

Quarterly Results – Q4 FY26

AWL declared its quarterly results on Tuesday. According to the statement, the consolidated net profit attributable to owners of the company jumped 53.5% year-on-year to ₹292.08 crore compared to ₹190.28 crore reported in Q4 FY25.

Consolidated revenue from operations was up 17.7% year-on-year to ₹21,464.78 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 compared to ₹18,229.59 crore reported in Q4 FY25. Total income for the quarter was ₹21,623.30 crore versus ₹18,291.63 crore in Q4 FY25. Profit before tax during the quarter was ₹380.09 crore, up from ₹234.34 crore in the year ago quarter. Basic EPS during the quarter was ₹2.26, up from ₹1.47 a year ago.

Full-Year Results – FY26

Consolidated revenue from operations grew 17.4% to ₹74,730.67 crore from ₹63,672.24 crore in the prior-year period, led by volume-led growth across all three business segments – Edible Oil, Food & FMCG and Industry Essentials. Revenue from Edible Oil segment stood at ₹59,787.47 crore for FY26 as compared to ₹49,736.02 crore in FY25.

Revenue from Food & FMCG business during the year was ₹6,473.25 crore compared to ₹5,588.53 crore in FY25. Industry Essentials segment contributed ₹8,469.95 crore to total revenue during the year compared to ₹7,347.69 crore in FY25.

Net profit attributable to owners of the company decreased to ₹1,042.05 crore from ₹1,225.08 crore in FY25 as higher other expenses at ₹5,016 crore and finance costs of ₹706.91 crore impacted profitability. Profit before tax stood at ₹1,367.04 crore as compared to ₹1,600.62 crore in FY25. Basic EPS for the year declined to ₹8.05 from ₹9.43 in the previous year.

Dividend

Subject to approval by members at the 28th AGM to be held on July 07, 2026, the Board of AWL Agri Business at its meeting held today has recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per equity share of face value ₹1 each for FY26.
