Mumbai, September 24, 2025: Bajaj Electricals Limited (NSE: BAJAJELEC, BSE: 500031) surged more than 11% on September 24, 2025, as its Board gave a go-ahead on its intended acquisition of the Morphy Richards brand and other related intellectual property rights at ₹146 crore.

The acquisition of Glen Electric Limited, a part of the Glen Dimplex Group (Ireland), strengthens the Group’s presence in South Asia, where it is already active in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The transaction is in the process of being finalized through the conclusion of agreements and the receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Market Reaction and Price Movement

As of 11:30, Bajaj Electricals’ share was trading at ₹611.80, representing an increase of ₹34.70, or 6.01%, from its previous close of ₹577.10. The stock opened at ₹606.00 and traded within the range of ₹603.95 and ₹653.80 (the day’s high and low) as the market capitalization rose to ₹7,410.22 crore. The traded volumes were robust, with 13.92 lakh shares traded (against a traded value of ₹87.67 crore). Board Approval and Next Steps

Bajaj Electricals confirmed that the acquisition was unanimously approved during the Board meeting held on September 23, 2025, which convened between 6:00 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. Regulatory approvals from the relevant authorities will be sought, and once obtained, Bajaj Electricals will provide an update on the final agreements and next steps.

Outlook

The acquisition will improve the brand portfolio and positioning of Bajaj Electricals in South Asia. Investors can view this as a long-term growth engine, although regulatory approvals are a milestone that can be achieved in the near future.
