CNG Rates Today, June 3, 2026: CNG Prices Hold Steady Across All Cities on Wednesday; Market Pauses After Week of Incremental Hikes

Mumbai, June 3: Compressed natural gas prices were unchanged across all major Indian cities on Wednesday, June 3, with no city in the current survey recording any revision from Tuesday’s rates. Delhi and the NCR continue to retail CNG at ₹83.09 per kg the cheapest major market in the dataset while Mumbai holds at ₹86.00, Rewari at ₹87.70, Meerut at ₹91.58, Sonipat at ₹92.50, Bangalore and Bharatpur at ₹95.00, Dewas at ₹95.50, Chennai at ₹96.00, and Hyderabad, Firozabad and Mathura at ₹97.00.
Wednesday’s across-the-board stability follows a fortnight of staggered, incremental city-level revisions that began with the May 15 fuel price hike. Since then, Delhi has absorbed ₹6.00 per kg in cumulative increases, Mumbai ₹5.00, Meerut ₹5.53, Bangalore ₹5.00 and Sonipat ₹5.90, among others all passed through in city-by-city tranches rather than a single national adjustment. Wednesday’s pause suggests that distribution companies across most zones have, for now, caught up with the cost pass-through cycle triggered by the earlier round of crude oil price escalation.
The rate gap between cities remains wide and is worth noting for CNG vehicle users who operate across distribution zones. Delhi remains ₹13.91 cheaper than Meerut and ₹8.61 cheaper than Mumbai an unusually large intra-north India spread that reflects the differential impact of earlier rounds of revision across distribution company territories. At the top of the range, Hyderabad, Firozabad and Mathura share the most expensive rate at ₹97.00, sitting ₹13.91 above Delhi’s rate and underscoring the uneven burden of CNG cost increases across the country.
With Brent crude holding above $95 a barrel and US-Iran ceasefire negotiations remaining unresolved, the structural upward pressure on domestic gas input costs has not disappeared. Wednesday’s stability is likely a pause rather than a ceiling, and further revisions in individual cities particularly those that have not yet fully passed through input cost increases remain a live possibility in the sessions ahead.
Petrol, Diesel Prices
Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major metro cities and state capitals on Wednesday. While fuel rates in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chandigarh were unchanged, small revisions were witnessed in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram. Hyderabad continued to record the highest petrol prices among major cities, while Thiruvananthapuram topped the diesel price chart.
To be sure, oil prices climbed nearly 1% on Wednesday, extending gains for a third straight session, as renewed hostilities in the Middle East heightened concerns over potential supply disruptions from one of the world’s most important energy-producing regions.
