CNG Prices Hold Steady on May 27, 2026; Delhi Rate at Rs 83.09 After Cumulative Rs 6 Hike

Mumbai, May 27: Compressed natural gas (CNG) prices remained unchanged across all major cities on Wednesday, May 27, offering a day of respite to commuters and fleet operators after a string of successive revisions that have pushed rates sharply higher over the past two weeks driven by the ongoing US-Iran war and the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

In Delhi and the NCR, CNG continues to retail at Rs 83.09 per kg reflecting a cumulative hike of Rs 6.00 per kg since May 15, the steepest fortnight of upward revisions in recent memory. Mumbai saw no further change on Wednesday, holding at Rs 84.00 per kg after absorbing a Rs 3.00 cumulative hike. Hyderabad remains the most expensive major city at Rs 97.00 per kg with no revision recorded on Wednesday, a level it shares with Firozabad and Mathura both also at Rs 97.00 per kg after cumulative increases of Rs 3.15 and Rs 4.00 respectively.

Among cities that have seen the steepest cumulative increases, Rewari recorded the sharpest overall climb at Rs 5.99 to reach Rs 87.70 per kg, followed by Sonipat at Rs 5.90 to Rs 92.50 and Bangalore at Rs 5.00 to Rs 95.00. Chennai and Meerut rose Rs 3.50 and Rs 3.65 to Rs 95.00 and Rs 89.70 respectively, while Bharatpur added Rs 2.50 to reach Rs 95.00. Dewas was the only city to see a marginal easing, slipping Rs 0.50 to Rs 95.50.
