Mumbai, April 2: Enviro Infra Engineers Ltd has secured five projects worth ₹1,481 crore in March 2026, marking one of its strongest order inflows and a clear shift towards renewable energy-linked infrastructure.

A large part of this, over ₹1,070 crore, comes from Battery Energy Storage System projects. That matters. Not just because of size, but because it takes the company into a new segment.

These projects, with a combined capacity of 930 MWh, are spread across Bihar, Assam and Telangana, the company said in a regulatory filing. The orders have been awarded by NTPC, indicating a step-up in both scale and counterparty profile.

Until now, the company’s core has been water and wastewater infrastructure.

Stock Market Snapshot

Despite the scale of the announcement, the stock moved lower during the session.

As of 10:31 IST on April 2, 2026, Enviro Infra Engineers share price was at ₹159.89, down ₹3.68 or 2.25% from the previous close of ₹163.57, according to exchange data.

Why The BESS Entry Matters

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming central to how power systems evolve.

Renewable energy is not constant. Solar and wind fluctuate. Storage helps smooth that variability. It allows power to be stored and released when needed.

India’s storage capacity is still at an early stage compared to future requirements. That gap creates opportunity.

For Enviro Infra Engineers, entering this space expands its addressable market meaningfully. It also aligns the business with long-term policy direction around clean energy and grid stability.

From A Niche Player To A Broader Infrastructure Story

The company has built its foundation in water infrastructure. That business continues.

But with these new orders, especially in energy storage, the narrative begins to change.

It is no longer just about water and sanitation. It is about participating in a wider infrastructure cycle. One that includes energy, sustainability and grid support systems.

The ₹1,481 crore order book addition strengthens near-term revenue visibility. The BESS entry shapes the longer-term story.
