Mumbai August, 31: EMS Limited has received Highest Bidder (H-1) status from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a user fee collection project on a stretch of National Highway 341 in Gujarat, with the contract valued at approximately ₹28.39 crore excluding TCS.
According to the company’s exchange disclosure, the project covers the operation of a Varsamhedi Fee Plaza at Km 13+125 on the NH-341 route from Bhimasar to Anjar-Bhuj, extending up to Airport Junction.
The scope includes engagement as the user fee collection agency through competitive bidding for the four-lane highway section. EMS will also be responsible for upkeep and maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks, including the replenishment of consumable items.
The contract has a stated execution period of one year. The company said the order is from a domestic entity and that neither its promoters nor promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.
Stock Market Snapshot
EMS shares were trading at ₹375.75, down ₹2.10 or 0.56%, as of 2:17:08 PM IST on August 31, 2026, according to the market data provided.
The stock came under pressure soon after the opening bell, falling from around ₹379 to below ₹375 during the early part of the session. It moved lower through the morning before finding some stability around the ₹372 to ₹374 range.
A late-session recovery pushed the stock above ₹377 briefly, although the gains did not hold. The EMS share price was back at ₹375.75 at the reported timestamp, leaving the stock marginally lower for the day.

NHAI Contract Covers Fee Collection And Highway Facility Upkeep
The contract awarded through the H-1 process is not a conventional road construction order. EMS has been selected for user fee collection operations at the designated fee plaza on the Gujarat highway section.
The project also includes the upkeep and maintenance of nearby toilet blocks and the provision of consumable items. The contract period is one year, as specified in the company’s regulatory disclosure.
The order value is approximately ₹2,838.88 lakh, excluding TCS, which works out to about ₹28.39 crore. The filing does not indicate any related party involvement in the contract.
EMS has also undertaken to keep the exchanges informed of further developments, including receipt of the Letter of Award (LOA) for the project.
EMS Expands Its Order Activity Through Highway-Linked Services
The latest disclosure adds a highway-linked service contract to EMS’s business activity, with the company taking on operational responsibilities rather than construction of the road itself.
The project involves a live highway corridor in Gujarat and requires the company to manage fee collection operations alongside specified maintenance responsibilities. Its one-year tenure provides a defined execution period under the NHAI arrangement.
The company has made the disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015, following its receipt of the H-1 status.
Conclusion
EMS has emerged as the H-1 bidder for an NHAI user fee collection contract covering the Varsamhedi Fee Plaza on NH-341 in Gujarat.
The project carries an estimated value of ₹28.39 crore excluding TCS and has a one-year execution period, with the scope also covering upkeep of adjacent toilet facilities. EMS shares, however, remained lower at ₹375.75, down 0.56%, as of 2:17:08 PM IST on August 31, 2026.
