Godrej Properties has acquired around 47 acres in Chennai to develop a plotted residential project with an estimated revenue potential of ₹500 crore, while the stock traded marginally higher.

Mumbai, June 30: Godrej Properties Ltd has acquired a 47-acre land parcel in Chennai through an outright purchase as it looks to expand its residential portfolio in one of South India’s fastest-growing housing markets, the company said on Tuesday.
The land is located off Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), a key residential and commercial corridor in South Chennai. Godrej Properties plans to develop a primarily plotted residential project on the site, with an estimated developable potential of around 1.2 million square feet.
The project is expected to generate an estimated revenue potential of about ₹500 crore, based on current business assumptions.
The company said the location offers strong connectivity to employment hubs along the Siruseri-Kelambakkam corridor, including SIPCOT, while also benefiting from improving social infrastructure, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and retail developments. The acquisition further strengthens Godrej Properties’ presence in Chennai, where residential demand has remained resilient amid expanding infrastructure and growing end-user interest.

The announcement kept the stock in focus during Tuesday’s session.
As of 9:33 AM IST on June 30, 2026, the Godrej Properties share price was trading at ₹1,833.00, up ₹2.90 or 0.16% from the previous close.
The muted gain suggested investors viewed the acquisition as another incremental addition to the company’s development pipeline. Land acquisitions are closely watched in the real estate sector as they provide visibility into future project launches and revenue potential over the medium term.
