Gold Dips on Wednesday; 24K Trades at ₹1,51,370 per 10 gm, ₹163 Down from Previous Day

Mumbai, April 29: Gold continued to trade lower in India on Wednesday and declined for a second consecutive session as recent hopes of easing tensions between Iran and the US weighed on demand.
National Price
The national price of 24-karat gold (99.9% purity) dropped ₹163 per gram to ₹15,137 per gram, or ₹1,51,370 for 10 grams — a decline of ₹1,630 per 10 grams from Tuesday’s national rate of ₹15,300 per gram (₹1,53,000 for 10 grams). 22-karat gold (91.6% purity) slipped ₹150 per gram to ₹13,875 per gram or ₹1,38,750 for 10 grams — down ₹1,500 for 10 grams from Tuesday’s rate of ₹14,025 per gram (₹1,40,250). 18-karat gold price (75% purity) decreased ₹122 per gram to ₹11,353 per gram or ₹1,13,530 for 10 grams — ₹1,220 lower per 10 grams from its previous day’s price of ₹11,475 per gram (₹1,14,750).
Rates Across Cities
Gold rates are the highest in Chennai every single day. In the Tamil Nadu city, 10 grams of gold cost ₹1,52,190 for 24K, ₹1,39,500 for 22K and ₹1,16,350 for 18K on Wednesday, or a ₹820 premium against the national price benchmark for 24 karat gold.
Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune trade at the same price as the national benchmark — ₹1,51,370 for 24K gold, ₹1,38,750 for 22K gold and ₹1,13,530 for 18K gold per 10 grams with zero city premium across these six largest markets in India.
Delhi trades at ₹1,51,530 for 24K, ₹1,38,900 for 22K and ₹1,13,680 for 18K gold per 10 grams — a ₹160 premium over Mumbai for 24 karat gold. Ahmedabad and Vadodara trade at ₹1,51,430 for 24K, ₹1,38,800 for 22K and ₹1,13,580 for 18K gold per 10 grams — ₹60 premium over the national rates because of lower local taxes and jewellery associations’ markup.
International Spot Gold Rates
International spot gold rates: In choppy trade on Wednesday as markets turned volatile, spot gold edged up 0.1% to $4,597.07 per ounce as of 8: 00 am India time – after tumbling to its lowest since April 2 in the previous session — as investors took to the sidelines ahead of Powell’s comments on the Iranian conflict. US gold futures for June delivery remained unchanged at $4,610.20.
