Indian Equity Markets End the Day in Green

Indian equity markets ended the day in green today, 5th May, 2025. Nifty 50 ended the day, up by 114.45 points. Sensex ended the day, up by 294.85 points. Top gainers at Nifty 50 were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and Trent. Top losers at Nifty 50 were Kotak Bank, JSW Steel, ONGC.

Midcap Stocks and Auto Stocks Gained

All the broad market indices at NSE ended the day in green. Nifty Midcap 100 index was the top gainer with 1.81% gain in the day. All sectoral indices, except for Nifty Bank index and Nifty Private bank index, ended the day in green. Nifty Auto Index was the top gainer with a gain of 1.85% in the day. Auto stocks were buoyed by good quarterly results posted by Mahindra & Mahindra. Nifty Oil & Gas index also gained 1.7%.

Market breath was positive. 2023 stocks gained; 865 stocks declined. 96 stocks did not show any net price change.
