US equity markets ended the day yesterday, 21st July, 2025, more on a flat note. Nasdaq ended the day, up by 78.52 points or 0.38%. S&P 500 ended the day, up by 8.81 points or 0.14%. Dow Jones ended the day, down by 19.12 points or 0.043%.

Stellantis forecasts $2.7 billion loss due to Trump tariffs

European markets ended the day on a mixed note, yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, down by 16.25 points or 0.30%. Dax ended the day, up by 18.29 points or 0.075%. FTSE 100 ended the day, up by 20.87 points or 0.23%.  Carmaker Stellantis said that it expects to post a loss of $2.7 billion in the first six months of 2025 because of the disruptions caused by the higher tariffs of President Trump.

Asian markets start the day in green

Asian markets have begun the day today on a flat note. At 8:50 a.m. today, 22nd July, Nikkei 225 is up by 73.70 points or 0.19%. Hang Seng is up by 2.57 points or 0.010%. Shanghai Composite is up by 4.53 points or 0.13%. South Korean Kospi is down by 18.95 points or 0.59%.

Indian equity markets closed the day in green yesterday. They may see some profit booking today. Some banks have posted good June quarter results. Oil prices fell yesterday on fears of a global economic slowdown. At 8: 55 a.m.today, Brent crude is trading at $68.71 per barrel. WTI crude is trading at $66.69 per barrel.
