Indian markets ended the day in red today, 28th May, 2025. Nifty 50 ended the day, down by 73.75 points or 0.30%. Sensex ended the day, down by 239.31 points or 0.29%. Top gainers at Nifty 50 today were HDFC Life, BEL and Bajaj Finance. Top Losers at Nifty 50 today were IndusInd Bank, Apollo Hospitals, Ultratech Cement.
Many small cap stocks gained today
Small cap stocks gained today. Nifty Small cap 250 index was the top gainer today among broad market indices. It ended the day, up by 0.41%. Nifty 100 index was the top loser today, down by 0.30%.
Nifty FMCG index top loser today
Among sectoral indices at NSE, Nifty Media index was the top gainer today. It ended the day, up by 1.04%. Nifty FMCG index was the top loser today. It ended the day, down by 1.49%. Nifty PSU bank index also gained. It ended the day, up by 0.97%.
Market breadth was marginally positive
Market breadth was marginally positive today. 1462 stocks gained; 1395 stocks declined. 83 stocks remained unchanged in their pricing. 51 stocks touched new 52-week high today. 17 stocks touched new 52-week low.
