Indian Markets End the Day on a Positive Note

Indian markets ended the day in green today, 26th May, 2025. Nifty 50 ended the day, up by 148 points or 0.60%. Sensex ended the day, up by 455.38 points or 0.56%. Top Gainers at Nifty 50 today were Bajaj-Auto, JSW Steel, M&M. Top Losers at Nifty 50 today were Eternal, Ultratech Cement, and Kotak Bank.

Markets got a boost by softening of the stand of US President, Donald Trump on tariffs. The news that India has overtaken Japan in nominal GDP terms also came as a boost to market sentiments.

Broader market indices end the day in green

All the broader market indices at NSE ended the day in green. All the sectoral indices, except for Nifty Midsmall Healthcare index, ended the day in red. Among sectoral indices, top gainer was Nifty Auto index. It ended the day, up by 1.06%. Top loser was Nifty Midsmall Healthcare Index. It ended the day, down by 0.21%.

Market Breadth was positive today. 1735 stocks gained during the day. 1173 stocks lost. 74 stocks remained unchanged. 53 stocks touched new 52-week high today. 25 stocks touched new 52-week low.

Asian markets end the day on a mixed note

Nikkei 225 ended the day, up by 371.06 points or 1%. Hang Seng ended the day down by 318.93 points or 1.35%. Shanghai composite index closed the day, down by 1.53 points or 0.046%. South Korean Kospi index ended the day, up by 52.31 points or 2.20%.
