Indian equity markets ended the day again in red, today, 10th July, 2025. Nifty 50 closed, down by 120.85 points or 0.47%. Sensex closed the day, down by 345.80 points or 0.41%.

Top gainers & losers

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 today were IndusInd Bank, Maruti, Tata Steel. Top 3 losers were Bharti Airtel, Asian Paint, HDFC Life. Tata Steel’s stock gained today after yesterday’s selling. Bharti Airtel lost today after it decided to spin off Airtel Money into a separate subsidiary. Asian Paints lost today after the company sold its entire stake in Akzo Nobel. HDFC Life’s stock saw decline today as life insurance companies may see some slowdown in their Annual Premium Equivalent income in June quarter.

All the broad market indices, except for Nifty Microcap 250 index, ended the day in red. Among sectoral indices only Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty Consumer durables indices ended the day in green. Rest of the sectoral indices ended the day in red. Metal and Realty stocks saw some buying today after the selling of yesterday. Nifty IT index and Nifty Midsmall IT & Telecom were the top losers among sectoral indices. IT stocks saw some selling pressure before TCS’ June quarter result.

Market breadth was again negative today. 1392 stocks advanced during the day at NSE. 1524 stocks declined.

TCS results come after market closing

TCS’ revenue in constant currency terms declined by 3.1% in June quarter.  On a sequential or quarter-on-quarter basis this decline is 0.6%. Net profit in the quarter of the company stood at Rs 12,760 crore, a year-on-year increase of 6%.  Total revenue of the company, in rupee terms, stood at Rs 63,437 crore, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%.  The company has announced a dividend of Rs 11 per share, with ex-dividend date on July 16th.
