Monday’s Top Gainers on Nifty: HDFC Life Soars; Adani, NTPC & Tata Motors Scoot in Behind 

Mumbai, April 13: Nifty 50 delivered a broad-based recovery on Monday, April 13. HDFC Life Insurance was the top gainer on the index, jumping 2.71% to ₹619.10, followed by Adani Enterprises (+2.02% to ₹2,129.00), NTPC (+1.60% to ₹386.25) and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV, +0.85% to ₹345.50). Investors appeared to have returned to the buying mode after a volatile week previously impacted by global trade worries.

Adani Enterprises

Opening the day gap-down at ₹2,010.20, Adani Enterprises recovered smartly to hit a high of ₹2,159.00 before closing down slightly at ₹2,129.00, still up ₹42.20 on Friday’s close of ₹2,086.80. Its low of the day was ₹2,000.20. Its biggest moves came last week — Apr 6–10 – when it rallied from a base of ₹1,834.20 to close at ₹2,086.80, up over 13.77%. It traded with a weekly high of ₹2,099.00 and a low of ₹1,802.10. However, since mid-March, Adani Enterprises has gained 4.24%, moving from ₹2,002 to close at ₹2,086.80 on Monday. (The stock hit a low of ₹1,802.10 on April 10 amid the global selloff.)

NTPC

NTPC opened at ₹374.35 and hit a day’s high of ₹388.00 and low of ₹374.35 before closing at ₹386.25, up ₹6.10 on Friday’s close of ₹380.15. Last week’s gain was much smaller — for April 6–10, NTPC rose 5.70%, moving from ₹359.65 to ₹380.15. Its weekly range was ₹355.70 to ₹384.45. Monthly, however, the power giant has lost 2.66%, falling from ₹390.55 around mid-March to ₹380.15 as of Monday’s close. Its monthly high was ₹394.50 and low was ₹355.70.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles opened at ₹332.00, hit a high of ₹346.80 and low of ₹332.00 before closing at ₹345.50, up ₹2.90 from Friday’s close of ₹342.60. While daily price action was modest, TMPV’s best week came last week — rising 12.96% from ₹303.30 to ₹342.60. Its weekly high was ₹343.80 and low was ₹299.85. TMPV has gained 5.56% on month, moving from ₹324.55 to ₹342.60 as of Monday’s close. The low of ₹299.85 on April 10 was a monthly low.

HDFC Life

Highest gainer on Nifty for the day, HDFC Life Insurance opened at ₹592.45, hit a high of ₹622.95 and a low of ₹592.00 before closing at ₹619.10, up ₹14.95 from Friday’s close of ₹604.15. HDFC Life gained 6.72% over the past week, rising from ₹566.10 to ₹604.15, with a high of ₹608.55. Monthly, HDFC Life has declined 6.43% from ₹645.70 in mid-March to ₹604.15 as of Monday, as the insurance index also faced pressure. Its monthly low came on April 10 too at ₹560.75. The monthly high for the stock was ₹646.60.
