Why Most Active Equities Matter
Stocks featuring among the most active equities usually reflect where investors are concentrating their attention. Higher trading volumes can be driven by quarterly earnings, corporate announcements, institutional transactions or changing market sentiment. However, volume alone does not indicate whether a stock is bullish or bearish. It becomes more meaningful when analysed alongside price action and fundamental developments.
Conclusion
Monday’s session highlighted broad participation across banking, consumer and small-cap stocks, with PC Jeweller, Vodafone Idea and Yes Bank leading the list of the NSE’s most active equities. While BEPL, Mrs. Bectors Food and Punjab National Bank paired heavy trading with strong gains, stocks such as HDFC Bank and Cupid witnessed active selling. As the earnings season gathers momentum, investors are likely to keep a close watch on trading volumes, which often provide an early indication of changing market sentiment and fresh institutional interest.
