Buying interest was visible across several mid-cap counters. Firstsource Solutions rallied over 11%, Swiggy gained nearly 7%, while Sagility India, Jio Financial Services, Kalyani Steels, TFCI Ltd and SAIL also closed higher. On the other hand, Suzlon Energy and PC Jeweller witnessed mild profit booking despite remaining among the most actively traded stocks of the session.

Why Most Active Equities Matter

The Most Active Equities list highlights stocks that witness the highest trading volumes during a market session. Heavy trading activity often reflects increased investor interest driven by earnings announcements, corporate developments, institutional participation or changing market sentiment. While high volumes alone do not determine the future direction of a stock, they help investors identify where market participation and liquidity are strongest.

Conclusion

As of 3:30 PM IST on July 29, 2026, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and Paradeep Phosphates remained the most actively traded stocks on the NSE. Strong gains in Paradeep Phosphates, Firstsource Solutions and Swiggy reflected sustained buying interest in select sectors, while modest profit booking in a few high-volume counters kept the broader market balanced. The day’s trading activity once again highlighted the importance of tracking volume trends to identify stocks attracting significant investor attention.
