MRF Shares End Flat as Strong Q4 Results Fail to Sustain Intraday Rally

Mumbai, May 7: Shares of MRF ended Thursday’s session marginally lower at ₹1,29,965 on the NSE, a decline of ₹370 or 0.28 per cent from the previous close of ₹1,30,335. The stock opened firm at ₹1,31,495, touching an intraday high of ₹1,33,950 in the early part of the session before selling pressure in the afternoon dragged it below the previous close. The low of the day was recorded at ₹1,29,350, reflecting an intraday swing of over ₹4,600. The VWAP for the session stood at ₹1,31,304.93, indicating that the closing price was below the average traded price of the day.

Over the week, MRF shares opened at ₹1,30,000 on April 30 and slid to a weekly low of approximately ₹1,28,600 on May 5 before recovering to ₹1,30,000 on May 6. Thursday’s close of ₹1,29,965 kept the stock broadly flat on a week-on-week basis, suggesting consolidation around the ₹1,30,000 level. The weekly price action reflects cautious sentiment ahead of the board meeting outcome, with the stock unable to sustain gains despite touching a high of ₹1,33,950 intraday on Thursday.

PAT Jumps 38% in Q4
MRF reported a consolidated net profit of ₹702.25 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, a sharp jump of 37.55 per cent compared with ₹510.50 crore in Q4 FY25. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 13.70 per cent to ₹8,044.22 crore in Q4 FY26 from ₹7,074.82 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. EBITDA for the quarter came in at ₹1,457.77 crore, up 22.52 per cent from ₹1,189.80 crore in Q4 FY25, while EBITDA margin expanded to 18.12 per cent from 16.82 per cent a year ago. Total income for Q4 FY26 stood at ₹8,183.28 crore against ₹7,190.16 crore in Q4 FY25, a year-on-year increase of 13.81 per cent.
For the full financial year FY26, MRF posted a consolidated net profit of ₹2,426.10 crore, up 29.51 per cent from ₹1,873.29 crore in FY25. Annual consolidated revenue from operations grew 10.64 per cent to ₹31,149.01 crore from ₹28,153.00 crore, while total income rose to ₹31,653.64 crore from ₹28,569.65 crore. Full-year EBITDA improved to ₹5,341.97 crore from ₹4,496.58 crore in FY25, a growth of 18.80 per cent, with EBITDA margin widening to 17.15 per cent from 15.97 per cent.
Dividend
The board recommended a final dividend of ₹229 per share of face value ₹10 each for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing Annual General Meeting. Including two interim dividends of ₹3 per share each already paid during the year, the total dividend for FY26 works out to ₹235 per share, reflecting the company’s robust earnings performance and commitment to rewarding shareholders.
