Mumbai, May 7: Hindustan Unilever was the top Nifty 50 loser on Thursday, falling 1.90 per cent to close at ₹2,273.00 in a session where FMCG, IT, consumer, and pharma stocks dragged the index lower. TCS, Titan, Tech Mahindra, ITC, and Sun Pharma also featured among the six biggest index losers, declining between 0.93 per cent and 1.33 per cent as selective profit-booking and sector-specific headwinds weighed on the broader market despite a largely positive undertone.

HUL – Down 1.90%

Hindustan Unilever was the biggest Nifty 50 loser on Thursday, declining 1.90 per cent to close at ₹2,273.00 from its previous close of ₹2,317.10 on the NSE. The FMCG major opened at ₹2,310.00, briefly touched an intraday high of ₹2,327.90 before sellers took control, with the stock hitting a session low of ₹2,268.10. A total of 18.59 lakh shares worth approximately ₹424.13 crore were traded during the day, as investors unwound positions in the consumer staples heavyweight amid concerns over demand recovery and margin sustainability in the near term.
