Market Activity

Onix Solar Energy Ltd led the positive side of the list by hitting its 5% upper band, while Indo Thai Securities Ltd and Sumax Engineering Ltd came very close to their respective limits. Indo Thai Securities Ltd recorded the highest volume among these five stocks, with 165.02 lakh shares traded. MOS Utility Ltd and Burnpur Cement Ltd moved in the opposite direction, with both stocks ending lower by more than 4.5%.

Why Price Band Hitters Matter

Price band activity can give investors a quick indication of stocks experiencing unusually strong buying or selling pressure. A stock reaching its upper band means its daily price movement has reached the permitted limit, while a move towards the lower band reflects stronger selling pressure. Still, a price-band move on its own does not explain the reason behind the trading activity. Volume, company developments and broader market conditions also need to be considered.

Conclusion

The September 7 session saw a clear mix of upper- and lower-side price movements. Onix Solar Energy Ltd was the standout stock, touching its 5% upper band, while Indo Thai Securities Ltd and Sumax Engineering Ltd also finished close to their upper limits. MOS Utility Ltd and Burnpur Cement Ltd, meanwhile, came close to their 5% lower bands. Indo Thai Securities Ltd recorded the highest volume among the five selected counters, with 165.02 lakh shares changing hands. (acml.in)
