Mumbai, October 14, 2025: Shares of Repro India Limited (NSE: REPRO, BSE: 532687) soared over 12.60% during the early trading hours on Tuesday and reached ₹542 a piece at 10:45 AM. The surge is attributed to the company’s announcement of an amicable settlement of a long-standing labour dispute at its Mahape plant. The company reported having entered into a Settlement Agreement dated October 13, 2025, with the Dharmarajya Kamgar Karmachari Mahasangh, the labor union representing the unit workers. The industrial dispute has been ongoing since 2017, leading to significant developments regarding the company’s future and capabilities.
The company was founded in 1993 and has emerged since 2005 as a leading provider of printing, publishing, and content solutions for both domestic and international publishers. The company operates on a print-on-demand model and digital publishing, and it is also engaged in educational content development.
Settlement Terms and Closure
As per the agreement, the concerned workers have been paid full and final payments. Hence, all the open legal proceedings and cases filed by the union or on behalf of the workers will be withdrawn. Both parties have agreed to take all necessary steps to restore usual operations at the plant. The company had earlier received a strike notice under Section 24(1) of the Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Unions and Prevention of Unfair Labour Practices Act, 1971, back in April 2017.
Market Reaction
The share traded at ₹542.00 (+12.62% from the previous day’s closing) around 10:45 AM. The stock opened flat at ₹481.25 and showed strong bullish momentum throughout the session, surging to an intraday high of ₹545.05 during the session. The session’s low matched the opening price, indicating sustained buying interest with minimal downside pressure. The VWAP of ₹521.10 suggests that most trades occurred near the upper price range, reflecting strong investor confidence.
Company Outlook
The settlement is expected to improve operational efficiency and employee relations, particularly in the company’s printing and publishing segment, which had been affected by the dispute. Analysts see the resolution as a positive step toward restoring production stability and reducing potential legal liabilities.
