Mumbai, June 2: Sectoral indices ended on a mixed note on Monday, with information technology stocks driving gains across the market while healthcare and financial-services-linked segments witnessed selling pressure at the close.

The technology pack significantly outperformed other sectors, supported by strong gains in IT and telecom-related stocks. Consumer-focused segments including consumer durables, FMCG and automobiles also ended higher, reflecting broad-based buying across select pockets of the market.

However, weakness in financial services, healthcare and pharmaceutical counters offset part of the positive momentum, creating a clear divergence between growth-oriented sectors and defensive segments.
