In the early trading hours, the Sensex showed strength thanks to robust momentum in the consumer, IT, and energy sectors. Titan, which is part of the Tata Group, was one of the best performers, gaining more than 1.6% as investors looked forward to demand during the festive season.
Infosys and TCS retained upward momentum amid investor expectations of good Q1FY26 profits from the IT pack, while Reliance Industries enjoyed gains on steady oil prices and Jio-related developments.
Market Sentiment and Broader Participation
Overall participation remained firm across the large-cap spectrum. Stocks such as Bajaj Finance (₹923.50, +0.76%), Mahindra & Mahindra (₹3,174.05, +0.81%), and Hindustan Unilever (₹2,284.00, +0.93%) added to the upward push. Meanwhile, Kotak Mahindra Bank (₹2,213.70, -0.43%) and ICICI Bank (₹1,423.55, -0.02%) remained marginally weak.
Turnover in frontline names was healthy, reflecting continued interest from institutional investors. HDFC Bank and Reliance clocked early turnover figures above ₹200 crore each.
Technical Outlook
With multiple blue-chips nearing or breaching resistance zones, the Sensex may look to retest its recent all-time highs if the momentum persists. Market breadth remains positive and volatility subdued, supporting short-term bullish bets.
