Some mixed cues for Indian equity markets today

US equity markets again ended the day in green yesterday, 14th July, 2025. Nasdaq ended the day, up by 54.80 points or 0.27%. Dow Jones ended the day, up by 88.14 points or 0.20%. S&P 500 ended the day, up by 8.81 points or 0.14%. US President Donald Trump said that he will impose tariffs as high as 100% on Russia if Russia does not end the war with Ukraine.
European markets saw some profit booking yesterday
European markets saw some profit booking yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, down by 12.63 points or 0.23%. Dax ended the day, down by 94.67 points or 0.39%. FTSE 100 ended the day, up by 56.94 points or 0.64%.
China’s economy slows down in the second quarter
Asian markets have opened on a mixed note today. At 9 a.m. 15th July, 2025, Nikkei 225 is up by 47.66 points or 0.12%. Hang Seng is down by 26.89 points or 0.11%. Shanghai index is down by 35.10 points or 1%. China’s economy slowed down in the second quarter in comparison to first quarter. Its GDP in the second quarter increased by 5.2% year-on-year, according to data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics. South Korean Kospi is down by 4.25 points or 0.13% today.
Indian equity markets underperform other equity markets
Indian equity markets underperformed most other equity markets in the previous 5 days. But yesterday all the broad market indices at NSE, except for Nifty 100 index, ended the day in green. This may indicate to some recovery in Indian equity markets today.
