Mumbai, 25 September 2025: Sterlite Technologies Ltd (NSE: STLTECH) shares climbed 1.34% to ₹124.92 at 11:37 IST today, buoyed by strategic developments in the UK market. The stock opened at ₹122.99, touched an intraday high of ₹126.00, and a low of ₹122.75. The company’s market capitalisation stands at ₹6,100 crore, approaching its 52-week high of ₹140.40.
STL Introduces Unitube Multi-Core Fibre Cable to Transform UK Networks
At Connected Britain 2025, STL unveiled its Unitube Single Jacket Indoor Optical Fibre Cable with 4-core Multi-Core Fibre (MCF), certified under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). This solution delivers:
- 4× higher throughput than legacy fibres
- Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for advanced security
- Compact efficiency, enabling higher fibre counts in smaller diameters
- Optimised ROI through scalable network backbones
Dr. Badri Gomatam, CTO of STL, stated that the innovation addresses the growing demands of AI, 5G, and quantum-era networks, positioning the company as a technology leader in advanced optical solutions.
Expanded Multi-Year Partnership with Netomnia Targets 5 Million Premises by 2027
STL has strengthened its partnership with Netomnia, the UK’s second-largest alternative network provider, to deliver end-to-end Fibre to the Home (FTTH) solutions. Netomnia’s 10 Gbps XGS-PON network currently reaches 2.8 million premises, with plans to expand to 5 million by 2027.
This collaboration is expected to enhance rollout efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership, with STL’s optical solutions enabling around 20% reduction in duct utilisation. Jeremy Chelot, CEO of Netomnia, noted that STL’s technology supports the creation of a high-speed, future-ready full-fibre network. Rahul Puri, CEO of STL’s Optical Networking Business, added that the partnership demonstrates a commitment to co-innovation and efficient network expansion.
STL’s recent initiatives, including the high-density fibre showcase and deeper collaboration with Netomnia, highlight its strategic focus on international expansion and cutting-edge optical solutions. These moves reinforce STL’s role in supporting advanced digital infrastructure across the UK, aligning with global technology trends in AI, 5G, and quantum networking.
