Mumbai, July 27: Five stocks are in focus on Monday, from IDFC First Bank posting its highest-ever quarterly profit to Waaree Renewable Technologies bagging fresh solar EPC orders. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.
IDFC First Bank (IDFCFIRSTB)

IDFC First Bank reported highest-ever quarterly profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 1,075 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 20 26, jumping 132.4 per cent year-on-year from Rs 463 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The lender posted PAT of over Rs 1,000 crore for the first time ever. Net interest income grew 21.1 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,972 crore while asset quality continued to improve with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) coming down to 1.51 per cent from 1.61 per cent in March quarter and net NPAs at 0.44 per cent. Loans and advances increased 20.6 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,05,370 crore. Investors will listen out for commentary on sustaining margin expansion and credit growth as the bank continue to build on first quarter north of Rs 1,000 crore PAT mark.
Bank of Baroda (BANKBARODA)
Net profit dips 71.8% to Rs 1,278 crore on one-off charge
State-run Bank of Baroda reported net profit of Rs 1,278 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 20 26, down 71.8 per cent from Rs 4,541 crore in the year-ago quarter and sharply lower than Rs 5,616 crore earned in the March quarter. The sharp drop came on account of a one-time exceptional item of Rs 5,680 crore related to settlement of legacy NMC Group cases. Without the exceptional item, net profit would have been Rs 5,528 crore for the quarter. Net interest income increased 9.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 12,524 crore, while asset quality continued to improve with gross NPAs falling to 1.99 per cent from 2.28 per cent and net NPAs at 0.50 per cent. Investors will watch for clarity on the one-off nature of the settlement and the underlying earnings trend when the bank holds its post-earnings call.
Waaree Renewable Technologies (WAAREERTL)
Bags EPC orders for 800 MWac solar capacity
Waaree Renewable Technologies said it received two Letters of Award (LoA) for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for two ground-mounted solar PV plants of 800 MWac capacity. The solar EPC orders from one of India’s leading renewable energy companies include two projects of 400 MWac each, translating into approximately 530 MWp and 552 MWp, respectively. Awarded at commercial rates, these domestic contracts will be executed simultaneously and are scheduled to be completed in FY 20 27-28. The latest orders bring the company’s total utility-scale solar order book to date to XX.XXX crore. Waaree Renewable reported a 37.7 per cent year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 118.97 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 20 26, while revenue from operations rose 53.2 per cent to Rs 924.25 crore. Investors will see how quickly these orders get executed and watch for further order inflows from solar EPC projects.
NTPC (NTPC)
Standalone profit up 11.9% to Rs 5,342 crore
State-run power giant NTPC reported an 11.9 per cent year-on-year increase in standalone net profit at Rs 5,342.4 crore for the first quarter of FY27 compared with Rs 4,774 crore in the year-ago period, helped by higher revenue and improved operational efficiency. Revenue from operations rose about 3 per cent to Rs 43,832 crore, while EBITDA jumped to Rs 12,600 crore from Rs 10,280 crore, leading to sharp expansion in margins. Consolidated or group net profit rose nearly 13 per cent to Rs 6,896 crore for the quarter. Thermal plants ran at an average plant load factor (PLF) of 76.71 per cent during the quarter, well ahead of the industry average of around 63 per cent. Investors will listen out for commentary on capacity addition plans and further ramp-up of NTPC’s renewable energy business through its subsidiaries.
NBCC (India) (NBCC)
Wins Rs 108.85 crore worth of work orders
NBCC (India) said it received two work orders from National Horticulture Board and the Directorate of Technical Education and Training Odisha worth Rs 20.42 crore and Rs 88.43 crore, respectively. Taken together, the two orders are worth about Rs 108.85 crore. While the larger order is for construction of boys’ and girls’ hostels at various places in Odisha, the smaller contract is for construction of Clean Plant Centre-comprising laboratory building and office building-at ICAR-CITH, Srinagar (under Government of India’s Clean Plant Programme). Both orders are project management consultancy assignments awarded to the company in ordinary course of business and have no related-party involvement. Investors will look for further traction in order wins from state governments and central government agencies as NBCC looks to grow its infrastructure order book further.
