Mumbai, Aug 24: Five stocks are in focus on Monday, from Reliance Industries’ shareholder nod for its explosives and fertilisers foray to Federal Bank’s $500 million offshore bond plan, an FDA inspection outcome at Natco Pharma, IREDA’s dividend record date and a fresh SECI order win for NTPC Green Energy’s renewable arm. Here’s what’s driving each stock and what to track through the day.
Reliance Industries (RELIANCE): Shareholders clear related-party transactions, entry into explosives business
Reliance Industries said shareholders approved three resolutions with the requisite majority through a postal ballot that concluded on August 20. Two ordinary resolutions cleared material related-party transactions involving RIL and its subsidiaries, each passing with about 99.21 per cent of votes in favour. A special resolution altering the objects clause of the company’s Memorandum of Association also passed, with 99.99 per cent support, allowing RIL to enter the ammonia, ammonium nitrate, explosives and fertiliser businesses, subject to approval from the Registrar of Companies. The move formalises Reliance’s push to diversify into chemicals and agrochemicals alongside its core energy, retail and telecom businesses.
Federal Bank (FEDERALBNK): Board clears plan to raise $500 million via offshore bonds
Federal Bank said its board has approved a proposal to raise up to $500 million through foreign currency-denominated bonds via its IFSC Banking Unit at GIFT City. The fundraising will be carried out in one or more tranches, with a maximum tenor of up to five years, subject to regulatory and statutory approvals. The Kerala-based lender joins a growing list of Indian banks tapping offshore debt markets this year, following similar moves by HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and IDFC First Bank, as lenders look to diversify funding sources and build foreign currency buffers.
Natco Pharma (NATCOPHARM): US FDA issues Form 483 with four observations at Vizag plant
Natco Pharma said the US FDA conducted an inspection at its Finished Dosage Formulations manufacturing plant in Parawada, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from August 17 to August 21. Following the inspection, the FDA issued a Form 483 with four observations, which the company described as procedural in nature. Natco said it remains confident of addressing the observations comprehensively within the stipulated timelines, and noted the facility is also approved by regulators including Brazil’s ANVISA, Health Canada and the WHO, catering to more than 50 global markets.
IREDA (IREDA): Sets September 11 record date for FY26 final dividend
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency has set September 11, 2026, as the record date to determine shareholders eligible to receive the proposed final dividend of Rs 0.75 per equity share for FY26. The state-run renewable energy financier’s dividend announcement comes as it continues to expand its loan book to support India’s clean energy transition, with investors likely to track the payout timeline once the record date is confirmed.
NTPC Green Energy (NTPCGREEN): Arm wins 500 MW peak power supply order from SECI
NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has emerged as the successful bidder in an e-reverse auction conducted by SECI for assured peak power supply of 6,000 MWh, or 1,500 MW for four hours, from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects across India. NTPC Renewable Energy has secured a contracted capacity of 500 MW at a discovered tariff of Rs 6.00 per unit. The win adds to NTPC Green Energy’s expanding portfolio of renewable capacity tied to firm, dispatchable power supply contracts, a segment increasingly in demand as grid operators seek round-the-clock clean energy solutions.
