Mumbai, April 20: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd reported fresh domestic order wins worth around ₹3,550 crore, giving a clear boost to its execution pipeline.

At the centre of the announcement is a large scale solar project. The company has been declared the lowest bidder for an 875 MW AC solar EPC package in Bikaner, Rajasthan, awarded by Coal India Ltd. The contract, including operations and maintenance components, is valued at roughly ₹3,490 crore, as per its exchange filing dated April 20, 2026.

Alongside this, the company secured a smaller but strategic 50 MW AC project in Maharashtra from a private power producer.

Put together, these wins take FY26 EPC inflows beyond ₹10,062 crore. That number matters. It signals that order activity has not only picked up but is closing the year on a stronger footing than earlier expected.

Stock Market Snapshot

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy share price moved sharply higher to ₹220.93, up 13.90% as of 11:05 IST on April 20, 2026, according to exchange data.

The reaction was not gradual. Buying interest came in early and stayed through the session, pushing the stock from an opening level of ₹194.88 to a high of ₹223.30.

Investors appear to be factoring in improved revenue visibility and the possibility of steadier cash flows if execution remains on track.

Pipeline Visibility Improves As Domestic Focus Strengthens

The Bikaner project stands out not just for its size, but for what it represents. This is the company’s first major engagement with Coal India, opening a new avenue for future projects in the public sector renewable push.

At the same time, the Maharashtra order reinforces the company’s presence in private sector solar deployments. A mix of public and private clients helps balance risk across the portfolio.

India’s renewable sector continues to see steady capacity additions, and EPC players are increasingly benefiting from this structural demand. For SWREL, the latest wins suggest it is participating meaningfully in that cycle.

Company Background

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd is an engineering, procurement and construction player focused primarily on utility scale solar projects.

The company operates across multiple geographies but has been sharpening its focus on improving order quality, execution discipline and balance sheet strength in recent years.

Conclusion

The latest order announcement does more than add numbers to the order book. It strengthens confidence around pipeline visibility and signals improving traction in the domestic market.

The sharp move in Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy share price reflects that shift in sentiment. Going ahead, the focus will likely move to execution, margins and how efficiently these large projects are delivered.
