Top gainers & losers at Nifty 50 today

Top 3 gainers at Nifty 50 today were Shriram Finance, Cipla and Hero Motors.

Shriram Finance’s stock gained after the company posted good June quarter result. Its net profit in the quarter increased year-on-year by 9% to Rs 2,156 crore. Both gross and net NPAs came down. Gross NPA in June quarter stood at 4.53%. Net NPA stood at 2.57%. A loan is classified as a Non-performing asset (NPA) when interest or principal repayment on it is due for more than 90 days. Gross NPA is total non-performing loans as a percentage of total loans given by a bank. Net NPA calculation deducts the provisions that have been made for the loans that have turned NPAs.

Cipla gained on good June quarter result

Cipla’s stock also gained today because of its good June quarter result. After its June quarter result came, some brokerage houses have increased their target price for the stock.

Hero Motors stock saw buying today after the declines of the past few days. Its stock price has lost 2.64% over the past 5 days.

Top losers

Top 3 losers at Nifty 50 today were Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance and IndusInd Bank. The June quarter result of Kotak Bank was below expectations.  It saw decline in both profit and asset quality in the June quarter.

Bajaj Finance’s stock continued with its downward trend of the past 5 days, today too. The stock has lost 6.52% over the past 5 days. It has gained 27.03% year-to-date in 2025.

IndusInd Bank saw some selling pressure today, ahead of its June quarter result announcement. The stock has lost 17.52% year-to-date in 2025.
