Adani Enterprises was also supported by news that its airport business planned to raise around $1 billion from investors including Temasek and BlackRock.

Why Top Gainers & Losers Matter
A look at the top gainers and losers can tell investors where the action is during a trading session. But a sharp move does not always tell the whole story. Sometimes it is driven by company news, while at other times an entire sector moves together because of a broader market trigger. Looking at the price move along with trading volume and the reason behind it gives a much clearer picture.
Conclusion
The September 9 noon session was marked by a sharp split between a few stocks that managed to attract buyers and a wider group facing selling pressure. Adani Enterprises Ltd led the gainers, helped by positive sentiment around its airport business, while Max Healthcare Institute Ltd and Coal India Ltd also traded firmly higher. On the other side, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd and Infosys Ltd recorded the steepest declines, with several major IT names also under pressure. Overall, the market remained cautious, with sector-specific selling playing a major role in the day’s moves.
