Mumbai, July 24: Shares of Vodafone Idea, PC Jeweller, Shadowfax Technologies and Suryoday Small Finance Bank were among the most actively traded stocks by volume on the NSE on Friday, with the counters witnessing significant investor interest amid a mix of corporate developments and earnings updates. Vodafone Idea and PC Jeweller declined as investors weighed network expansion costs and debt repayment progress, respectively, while Shadowfax fell following block deals. Suryoday SFB, meanwhile, gained after reporting more than a twofold jump in June-quarter profit on strong loan growth and improving asset quality.

Vodafone Idea Limited (down 2.35%)

Vodafone Idea shares fell on Friday, extending losses from the previous session after recovering partially over the preceding two trading days, as investors weighed the prospect of higher network equipment costs against the telecom operator’s plans to accelerate its 5G rollout.

A report said network equipment makers are preparing to raise prices amid higher chip and component costs, driven in part by the global surge in artificial intelligence investments. The potential increase in capital expenditure comes as Vodafone Idea faces mounting pressure to catch up with rivals that have already made significant headway in rolling out 5G services across India.

The telecom operator’s proposed ₹35,000-crore debt fundraising is expected to provide much-needed financial support for its network expansion plans. Vodafone Idea intends to deploy the funds towards strengthening its 4G network and accelerating the rollout of 5G services.

However, reports suggest the fundraising proposal is yet to receive final approval from the company’s lending consortium, with banks seeking additional safeguards and revisions to the business plan. Any delay in securing the funds could slow the planned network investments at a time when Vodafone Idea is under increasing pressure to expand its infrastructure and compete more aggressively with its larger rivals.

PC Jeweller Limited (down 1.39%)

Shares of PC Jeweller fell on Friday, extending the decline from the previous session, as investors weighed the jewellery retailer’s latest update on its debt repayment efforts.

The company had said it had settled dues with another bank, taking the total number of lenders it had reached settlements with to five out of 14.

The update comes after PC Jeweller’s board last Thursday approved a proposal to raise ₹1,000 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP). Separately, HRTI Private sold more than 1.32 crore shares in the company last Friday.

The jewellery retailer reported a 21% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue for the June quarter and has made significant progress in reducing its debt burden. The company has repaid more than 90% of its outstanding bank borrowings since reaching a settlement with lenders and expects to clear its remaining bank debt during the current quarter.

Shadowfax Technologies Limited (down 3.33%)

Shares of Shadowfax Technologies came under pressure on Friday after block transactions involving 9.3 crore shares, equivalent to 16.2% of the company’s equity, changed hands. The trades were valued at around ₹1,938 crore, with the shares changing hands at an average price of ₹206 apiece.

The transaction followed a proposal by Eight Roads, Flipkart and IMM India Fund to offload a combined 9.08% stake in the company. The floor price for the deal was fixed at ₹197 per share, representing a discount of up to 9.87% to the stock’s previous closing price.

As of the end of the June quarter, promoters and the promoter group owned 16.51% of Shadowfax, while public shareholders held 83.82%. Flipkart Internet had a 7.14% stake in the company, while Eight Roads Investments Mauritius II owned 9.31%.

Following the block transactions, the sellers’ remaining holdings will be subject to a 90-day lock-in period.

Suryoday Small Finance Bank Limited (up 3.66%)

Suryoday Small Finance Bank reported a more than twofold jump in first-quarter net profit, helped by strong growth in its loan book and an improvement in asset quality. Net profit rose to ₹75 crore in the June quarter from ₹35 crore a year earlier.

The bank’s performance was supported by healthy business growth, with net interest income, operating profit and advances registering strong year-on-year growth during the quarter. Gross non-performing assets also improved significantly from the year-ago period, pointing to a strengthening asset-quality profile.

The strong earnings follow robust growth in Suryoday SFB’s lending business. Gross advances rose 33% year-on-year to ₹14,376 crore as of June 30, 2026.

The results are likely to keep Suryoday Small Finance Bank shares in focus as investors assess whether the lender can sustain its strong loan growth while continuing to improve asset quality and profitability.
