Mumbai, November 2: Shares of Motherson Sumi Wiring India, Vedanta Power and Vodafone Idea were the most actively traded stocks by volume on the NSE on Monday, with the three counters advancing up to 11.75% after company-specific developments. Motherson Sumi Wiring surged following strong September-quarter earnings, while Vedanta Power extended its rally after returning to profitability. Vodafone Idea gained after regulatory approval for a major Vodafone Group stake transaction and the launch of new voice-only prepaid plans. In contrast, PC Jeweller fell 2.65% after disclosing SEBI warning letters issued to two senior executives over a compliance lapse.

PC Jeweller Limited (down 2.65%)

PC Jeweller shares came under pressure on Monday after the company disclosed that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had issued administrative warning letters to its managing director and company secretary over a compliance lapse involving the maintenance of a structured digital database.

The regulatory action relates to the company’s business update for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, which contained unpublished price-sensitive information (UPSI).

In its exchange filing dated October 31, PC Jeweller said SEBI had issued the warning letters to promoter and managing director Balram Garg and company secretary and compliance officer Vijay Panwar on October 30.

The company said that although the database had not been maintained in connection with the business update, its trading window remained closed for designated persons and their immediate relatives during the relevant period. It also stated that the regulatory action had no financial or operational impact on its business.

The decline came despite the company’s recent improvement in financial performance and its announcement earlier in October that it had cleared outstanding debt with its consortium of 14 banks.

Vedanta Power Limited (up 6.88%)

Vedanta Power shares extended their rally on Monday, following a sharp surge in the previous session, after the company reported a strong recovery in its September-quarter performance last week. The company posted a net profit of Rs 83 crore, compared with a loss of Rs 1,688 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue increased 38% year-on-year to Rs 2,908 crore, while EBITDA climbed 122% to Rs 421 crore. Operationally, the company also clocked its highest-ever quarterly power sales of 5,593 million units, marking a 26% increase from a year earlier.

Motherson Sumi Wiring India Limited (up 11.75%)

Shares of Motherson Sumi Wiring India surged on Monday after the auto ancillary company reported a 35% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 223 crore for the September quarter.

Revenue from operations climbed 47% year-on-year to Rs 4,504 crore. On a sequential basis, net profit rose 54% while revenue increased 19%.

EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, advanced 45% sequentially to Rs 374 crore.

The company attributed its growth to premiumisation led by higher content per vehicle and new business wins across electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms. Expansion and ramp-up of greenfield projects also helped accommodate higher customer volumes amid elevated copper prices and other input-cost pressures.

For the first half of FY27, revenue increased 42% year-on-year, while net profit rose 20%.

Despite Monday’s rally, Motherson Sumi Wiring shares remain down around 20% since the beginning of 2026 and. However, the stock has gained nearly 16% over the past month.

Vodafone Idea Limited (up 1.61%)

Shares of Vodafone Idea (Vi) gained on Monday after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved French billionaire Xavier Niel’s proposed acquisition of a 16.2% stake in UK-based Vodafone Group Plc for 5.1 billion euros. The stock also remained in focus after the telecom operator introduced four new voice-only prepaid recharge plans in India, starting at Rs 179, in compliance with a Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) directive.

The CCI’s approval removes a key regulatory hurdle for Niel’s proposed investment in Vodafone Group, which has a substantial presence in India through its joint venture with the Aditya Birla Group, Vodafone Idea. The transaction is being executed through Vega SAS, a subsidiary of Niel’s family investment vehicle, Maya SAS.

Under the proposed transaction, Vega SAS will acquire a 16.2% stake in Vodafone Group from Emirates Telecommunications Group for approximately 5.1 billion euros. Once completed, the acquisition will make Niel’s investment vehicle Vodafone Group’s largest single shareholder.

Although Vega SAS does not have direct business operations in India, the transaction required clearance from the country’s competition regulator because of Vodafone Group’s substantial presence in the domestic telecommunications market through Vodafone Idea.
