TRENT, BEL Top Gainers; Infosys, HCLTech Among Worst Hit in Today’s Trade

Mumbai, June 23, 2025 — On Monday, Indian benchmark indices experienced stock-specific moves, with some outperformers improving sentiment despite pressure on heavyweight counters dragging overall momentum. TRENT Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) led the gainers in the NIFTY 50 pack, while Infosys, HCLTech, and L&T were the key laggards.
NIFTY 50: TRENT and BEL Surge, IT Drags
After a noted dividend announcement, TRENT gained momentum and closed up sharply 3.57% at ₹6,108. BEL was up 3.22% to close at ₹421.40 after solid trading volumes. In addition, metals major Hindalco also posted solid gains of nearly 2%.
On the downside, tech stocks felt the blow. Infosys closed down 2.35% to ₹1,584.70, with HCLTech and L&T following closely, each down over 2%. Hero MotoCorp and M&M also fell sharply during profit booking.

BANK NIFTY: IDFC First Bank Outperforms
IDFC First Bank advanced 1.21% to ₹71.04 within the banking space, topping the BANK NIFTY chart. PNB and Canara Bank also posted modest gains.
However, larger banks struggled, with HDFC Bank, SBI, and ICICI Bank registering mild declines.
