US, European markets closed strongly in green, yesterday

US markets closed the day yesterday, 9th July, strongly in green. Nasdaq ended the day, up by 192.88 points or 0.94%. This after Nvidia’s stock price jumped. It became the first company in the world to hit $4 trillion in market capitalization. S&P 500 ended the day, up by 37.74 points or 0.61%. Dow Jones ended the day, up by 217.54 points or 0.49%.
European markets continue to gain
European markets also continued with the gains of the previous day, yesterday. Euro Stoxx 50 ended the day, up by 73.70 points or 1.37%. Dax shot up and closed, up by 342.65 points or 1.42%. FTSE 100 index ended the day, up by 12.84 points or 0.15%.
Asian markets begin on a mixed note
Asian markets have started the day on a mixed note today, 10th July, 2025. At 8:50 a.m. Indian Standard Time, Nikkei 225 is down by 210.67 points or 0.53%. Hang Seng is up by 32.70 points or 0.14%. Shanghai composite is up by 11.70 points or 0.34%. Many Chinese stocks are gaining today. This, after China’s retail sales in May increased year-on-year by 6.4%. This is the highest increase in retail sales in the country since December 2023. This has given some optimism regarding the state of recovery of the Chinese economy. South Korea’s KOSPI is up by 31.56 points or 1.01%.
Indian equity markets are getting largely positive cues from foreign markets today. But investors and traders may continue with their cautious stance today too. Oil prices are increasing a bit. Brent crude for August delivery is now trading at $70.18 per barrel. WTI crude is trading at $68.30 per barrel.
