New Delhi: Mining major Vedanta on Wednesday reported a more than two-fold rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,650 crore in the quarter ended September 2026, driven by higher commodity prices, favourable forex, and higher volumes.

In the year-ago period, the Anil Agarwal-led company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,798 crore.

Revenue from operations during the second quarter increased to Rs 26,356 crore from Rs 16,736 crore a year ago.

The company said in a filing to BSE that revenue growth was supported by higher commodity prices, favourable forex, and higher volumes.

Total expenses during the second quarter rose to Rs 18,476 crore over Rs 13,793 crore in the year-ago period. Vedanta’s gross debt stood at Rs 30,297 crore as on September 30, 2026.

“Vedanta delivered another quarter of strong operational performance…we invested Rs 1,135 crore towards our growth projects, advancing capacity expansions, mine development and resource security initiatives across the portfolio.

“The consistent delivery of these milestones reflects the strength of our diversified asset base and our continued focus on volume growth, cost leadership and creating value for all stakeholders,” company’s Executive Director Arun Misra said.

Group CFO Ajay Goel said that the strong cash generation of Rs 5,803 crore during the quarter enabled the company to reduce its net debt by Rs 4,624 crore to Rs 3,675 crore.

With multiple growth engines across Hindustan Zinc, Zinc International, FACOR, Copper and Ports and with a rich portfolio of critical mineral blocks, Vedanta Limited is well positioned to charter the next phase of growth while maintaining financial discipline and creating long-term value, he added.

The company’s gross debt stood at Rs 30,297 crore as on September 30, 2026.

Vedanta Limited is a leading global producer of metals, critical minerals and technology.
