ACME Solar Holdings signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with SECI for a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid project, while its shares traded lower on Tuesday.

Mumbai, July 21: ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. has taken another step in expanding its renewable energy portfolio after its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Renewtech Fifth Pvt. Ltd., signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 300 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid project.
The agreement has been signed under SECI’s Hybrid Tranche IX programme. According to the company’s exchange filing, the project will supply electricity at a fixed tariff of ₹3.25 per unit, with commercial supply scheduled to begin on June 30, 2028. The PPA will remain in force for 25 years from the scheduled commencement date.
The project will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) and will utilise transmission connectivity that the company has already secured at high wind and solar resource locations.
The latest agreement also strengthens ACME Solar’s contracted portfolio. Following the signing of this PPA, the company’s total contracted capacity has reached 8,070 MW, of which 6,870 MW is now backed by signed power purchase agreements.
Stock Market Snapshot
Despite the long-term project milestone, the stock remained under pressure during Tuesday’s trade.
ACME Solar share price was trading at ₹374.25, down 0.87%, as of 11:40 AM IST on July 21. The stock stayed in negative territory through most of the morning session, suggesting investors were largely unfazed by the announcement.
While PPAs improve revenue visibility by locking in long-term power sales, such agreements are generally viewed as execution milestones rather than immediate earnings triggers. Investors often shift focus to project commissioning timelines, financing and execution progress before reassessing valuations.
Company Background
ACME Solar Holdings is an integrated renewable energy developer with a diversified portfolio spanning solar, wind, hybrid and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects.
The company currently has an operational contracted capacity of around 2,990 MW, while several large projects remain under construction. It also undertakes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work in-house, allowing greater control over project execution and timelines.
Conclusion
The 300 MW SECI agreement adds another long-duration revenue stream to ACME Solar’s growing renewable energy portfolio and increases the company’s PPA-backed capacity to 6,870 MW. Although the development strengthens long-term earnings visibility, the market reaction remained muted, with the stock trading modestly lower during Tuesday’s session.
