New Delhi: Bharat Forge Ltd’s net profit for the July-September quarter of the current fiscal dropped 6.9 per cent year-on-year, despite a 20.8 per cent growth in its revenue from operations.
The company’s consolidated net profit for the period declined to Rs 278.68 crore from Rs 299.28 crore in the year-ago period, Bharat Forge said in an exchange filing on Thursday.
The forging company’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 4,869.97 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 4,031.93 crore in the year-ago period.
Total expenses during the quarter increased to Rs 4,468.98 crore, compared to Rs 3,627.25 crore in Q2 FY26.
The company recorded a one-time net loss of Rs 24.57 crore in the quarter related to restructuring expenses of its German subsidiary Bharat Forge CDP GmbH.
“One of the German subsidiary companies, Bharat Forge CDP GmbH (BF CDP), is facing market challenges and associated cost disadvantages. The company has initiated actions for restructuring of BF CDP,” the company noted.
Meanwhile, the company’s board approved an additional investment of up to Rs 290.5 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd in one or more tranches.
The company will fund the investment via Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP). The transaction is expected to be closed before March 31, 2027.
