Mumbai, 3 November 2025: After grabbing attention with its debut episode, HDFC Securities has dropped Episode 2 of its powerful investor awareness campaign, “Scam 2025: Choron Ka Parivar”, created in partnership with filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and his team. Titled “Scams Have a Syllabus Now”, the new episode pushes the narrative deeper  this time, the “Chors” (scammers) are seen learning the art of deception in a classroom, symbolising how financial fraud has become more organised, rehearsed, and dangerously sophisticated.

Cybercriminals Learn the Tricks: Scams Get ‘Schooled’ in Episode 2

The episode opens in a peculiar setting  a classroom where the teacher begins with a chilling line: “Okay class, mujhe scam karo” (“Okay class, scam me”). The students respond with mock enthusiasm, repeating fake investment pitches, “Sir, instant profit chahiye?” and “Sir, guaranteed returns milenge!”, phrases that mirror the very tactics used in real-life scam calls.

The humour quickly turns unsettling as the “lesson” unfolds. Their teacher praises a student who claims to offer 28% returns when the market offers just 7%, underlining how false promises remain the bait that hooks victims. The dialogue ends with the punchline, “Offer itna aansu do ki bande ke aansu aa jaaye,”, a metaphor for emotional manipulation disguised as opportunity.

Through its dark satire, Episode 2 exposes how scammers now train to sound credible, persuasive, and emotionally convincing using psychology as their sharpest weapon. It’s a sharp reminder that behind every too-good-to-be-true call is a well-rehearsed act designed to disarm your logic.

India’s Digital Scams Surge Amid Promises of ‘Guaranteed Returns’

With India’s cybercrime losses crossing ₹22,842 crore in 2024, the episode reflects a worrying reality: fraudsters are evolving faster than most investors are learning to protect themselves. The film connects classroom training to real-world scams where people fall prey to professional-sounding callers promising unrealistic profits.

The setting, a parody of an academic environment, symbolises how deception has become a “curriculum” in the underworld of financial crime. By showing scammers in a structured classroom, the film cleverly implies that while they are “learning,” it’s the investors who must educate themselves faster to stay ahead.

Investor Awareness Week 2025 Expands With ‘Scam 2025’ Classroom Edition

Launched during Investor Awareness Week 2025, the Scam 2025 series continues to blend entertainment and education seamlessly. Episode 2 builds on the first instalment’s warning about the evolution of thieves, from street-level tricksters to digital manipulators and now showcases how they are institutionalising deceit through “training.”
The film ends with a line that hits home: “Offer unbelievable lage, toh believe na karein.” (“If an offer sounds unbelievable, don’t believe it.”) It’s both a rule of thumb and a reality check, urging viewers to question, verify, and think critically before trusting anyone offering effortless riches.

Episode 2 of Scam 2025: Choron Ka Parivar by HDFC Securities delivers a powerful warning, scammers are getting smarter, so investors must get wiser. It underscores the importance of scepticism, awareness, and vigilance in every financial decision. The message is clear: before saying yes to a tempting offer, pause, assess, and verify because real profits are earned, not promised
