Strategic Observations
- Loan Book Trends: Gross advances fell 2.0% QoQ to ₹2.41 lakh crore, suggesting conservative lending or repayments outpacing disbursements in Q1. However, a 5.1% YoY growth indicates sustained momentum over a longer horizon.
- Deposit Movement: Deposits dipped 3.0% QoQ to ₹2.76 lakh crore, while maintaining a 4.1% YoY increase. This decline sequentially could signal liquidity shifts or higher competitive pressure for retail funds.
- CASA Pressure: The Current Account Savings Account (CASA) base contracted 7.3% sequentially. The CASA ratio dipped to 32.7% from 34.3%, although still higher than 30.8% a year ago pointing to some resilience in the retail franchise YoY.
- Liquidity Strength: Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) improved to 135.7% from 125% last quarter, ensuring comfortable liquidity buffers in line with regulatory thresholds.
The disclosed data remains provisional and unaudited, pending review and approval by the Audit Committee and Board. The final results are subject to a limited review by the statutory auditors of YES Bank.
