Mumbai, 9 July 2025: 5paisa Capital Ltd (NSE: 5PAISA) reported a 43% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit for Q1 FY26, amounting to ₹1,152.45 lakh. This marks a sharp drop from ₹2,007.42 lakh in the same quarter last year, primarily due to elevated employee expenses and subdued fee-based revenue. However, the company showed sequential recovery across key metrics, indicating early signs of operational stabilisation.

Shares of 5paisa Capital Ltd traded lower following its Q1 FY26 results, which showed a 43% year-on-year drop in net profit. The stock opened at ₹408.20 and declined to ₹402.40 by 10:03 AM, marking a fall of ₹13.85 or 3.33%. It touched an intraday low of ₹391.40 amid investor concerns over rising costs and subdued revenues. Market capitalisation stood at ₹1,260 crore, with the stock trading well below its 52-week high of ₹607.05.

Revenue Slips on an Annual Basis but Shows Sequential Growth

The company’s standalone revenue from operations came in at ₹7,768.89 lakh, reflecting a 24% YoY decline but a 9% improvement over the previous quarter. Total income stood at ₹7,771.95 lakh, while expenses were ₹6,225.05 lakh-up 7.5% quarter-on-quarter.

On a consolidated basis, 5paisa Capital posted ₹1,154.85 lakh in net profit for Q1 FY26, compared to ₹2,008.80 lakh a year ago. Total income dropped 23.9% YoY but increased 8.9% sequentially. Total comprehensive income fell to ₹1,159.48 lakh.

5paisa operates solely in stock broking and the distribution of financial products, primarily through its digital platforms. No segmental disclosures are applicable under Ind AS 108 due to this single operational focus.

Leadership Reshuffle and Board Expansion Announced

The company reported two significant corporate developments:

  • Compliance Resignation: Mrs. Namita Godbole, Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer, has resigned, effective 11 July 2025. The company has acknowledged her contribution and will begin the process of identifying a successor.
  • New Board Appointment: Dr. Sarat Kumar Malik (DIN: 09791314) has been appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director, effective 8 July 2025, subject to shareholder approval.

Regulatory and Auditor Observations

The quarterly results were filed in line with Regulations 30 and 33 of SEBI (LODR), 2015. The Limited Review Report issued by V. Sankar Aiyar & Co. was unqualified but included an emphasis of matter regarding an Income Tax Department search conducted in January 2025. No formal communication has been received from authorities, and the financial impact remains unascertained.
